Autumn Collection: the priest’s Autumn
Collection is taken up at this time. This is one of
four priest’s collections during the year.
The weekly collection is used exclusively for the
upkeep of parish property and the running expenses
of the parish. Sincere thanks to all you contribute so
generously to all collections throughout the year.
First Communion - Do this in Memory There
will be a meeting for all parents / guardians of
children preparing for First Penance and First
Communion in the Pastoral Centre (the former
Girls' School opposite the church) in Louisburgh
on Wednesday 15 October at 8.00 p.m.
Celebration of Marriage Anniversaries: A
special celebration of Marriage Anniversaries will
take place on Sunday 19 October, Mission Sunday,
at 3.00 pm in the Cathedral in Tuam. The principal
celebrant will be Archbishop Neary and Fr Conal
Eustace will preach the Homily. Any couple
celebrating an Anniversary is invited to attend. We
particularly invite couples celebrating a significant
Wedding Anniversary to come along, and
encourage them to bring their families. Following
the Mass refreshments will be served in St
Jarlath’s College. To confirm attendance please

P.T.A.A. The Westport Regional annual dinner
dance will be held in The Westport Country Lodge
on Friday 17 October.

Taking up Handel's Challenge for Mayo
Once again this year two choir members from our
parish choir are taking part in the Handel's
Challenge to raise funds for the Mayo Roscommon
Hospice and Mayo Mental health that will take
place in Holy Rosary Church, Castlebar, on
Sunday 02 November.
Each member undertakes to fundraise a minimum
of €200.

Last year the amount raised by Sandra, James and
Carmel was €1,100.

Killeen Community Council Elections:
Killeen Community Council members will
distribute voting papers for their upcoming
election.
All community members over 18 and resident in
the Killeen Community Council area are entitled
to vote.
Voting papers will be collected on or before
Wednesday 15 October .

on Wednesday 05 November at 8.00 p.m.

Western Lakes Ladies End of Season Cycle: is
happening on Saturday 18 October. Ladies before

Louisburgh Scouts, monster's ball: will be held
on Saturday 01 November
in the Derrylahan.
Doors open at 9.30 p.m. Tickets €15, are available
from the Derrylahan. It is fancy dress and there
will be themed food, drink and surprise
entertainment on the night. Strictly over 18. Funds
raised will go to the Scouts.
Louisburgh NS Parents' Association:
We will be holding our first meeting of the year,
the AGM on Monday 13 October at 7.30 p.m. to
9.00 p.m. in Louisburgh NS when we will review
our previous year’s activities and appoint the new
committee. We will also have the usual inputs
from the Principal, Board of Management and the
Treasurer.
We would love to see as many parents as possible
at this meeting as it provides an opportunity for all
to contribute to our children’s development in
school and shape the agenda for the next school
year.
It is essential that we have some new input and
elect a new committee if we are to continue our
activities. Please come forward and be assured that
the outgoing committee will provide full help and
support to new members.
Fr. Pádraig Ó Máille: A radio documentary about
the life of Fr. Pádraig will be broadcast on
Castlebar Community Radio this Monday 13
October at 8.00 p.m.
'From Mayo to Malawi and everything in between'
is the story of how and why Fr Pádraig as a
missionary priest got involved in political activism
in Africa. It also looks at his battle to save the Irish
language in Ireland during the late 1960s. Tune in

Achill Lifeboat; Achill trade fair in aid of lifeboat
takes place on 02 November in Ostan Oilean Acla
between 12.00 and 6.00 p.m. fun day out for all the
family with exhibits of all kinds. Children's disco
