As you cast open the door of your heart to us may we respond with urgency to proclaim your mercy to others. May we always be credible witnesses to mercy, professing it and living it as the core of the revelation of Jesus Christ. May we never tire of extending mercy, and be ever patient in offering compassion and comfort. May we become the voice of every man and woman, and repeat confidently without end: “Be mindful of your mercy, O Lord, and your steadfast love, for they have been from of old”(Ps 25:6). Amen 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time October23, 2016 THIRTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME First Reading: Sirach 35:12-14, 16-18 Second Reading: 2 Timothy 4:6-8, 16-18 Gospel: Luke 18:9-14 FOCUS OF TODAY’S READINGS: Focus: “I” Trouble ~ It shouldn’t be that difficult to be humble when standing before God in prayer.
