SESAM Application in
Semi-Submersible Topsides Design

Abstract:
This presentation will give an introduction to typical analyses of semisubmersible
topsides and the application of SESAM software package in topsides design.

Biography:
Charles Wang is currently a principle structural engineer with Wood Group Mustang. He
has 25 years of structural engineering in Commercial, Petrochemical, and oil and gas
industries. His extensive offshore engineering experience include Holstein Spar
topsides, Kizomba A FPSO topsides modules, Benguela Belize Compliant Piled Tower,
Tombua-Landana Compliant Piled Tower, Cheviot deep draft semisubmersible
(Octabuoy ) topsides, Hadrian North semisubmersible topsides, Ichthys
semisubmersible topsides , White Rose Concrete Gravity Base topsides, and other
fixed platforms.
He has also served in the technical committee of ASCE Blast Task Force.
Charles received his BS degree in Structural engineering from Tsinghua University in
1988 and his MS degree in structural engineering from Oklahoma State University in
1992.
Directions:
Cinco Ranch Branch Library is located near Cinco Ranch Boulevard and highway 99,
about 3 miles south of I10. From I-10 take the TX-99 exit and driving south. Take the
Cinco Ranch Blvd exit from TX-99 S. Turn right onto Cinco Ranch Blvd. Turn left onto
Commercial Center Blvd. Destination will be on the right.
The meeting room is at the left side after entering the library.
