Happy Trick or Treat.
Halloween is just around the
corner and plans are being made
at Morning Pointe of Clinton.
Small Wonders Day Care will be
coming to do a short program for
the residents dressed in their
costumes. This is the third year
that they have come to visit us at
Halloween time. All of the
residents look forward to seeing
the children and handing out
candy. The youngsters usually
bring holiday themed artwork to
give to the residents. Everyone
young and old enjoys the
activities of Halloween at Morning
Pointe of

Small Wonders Daycare:
Always a resident favorite
be in costume and some of the
residents are making plans to
dress up too. Games will be set up
to play, there will be snacks
served and plenty of visiting and
story telling. Staff members are
planning to hold a trunk-or-treat
event in our front parking area,
under the portico in case of rain.
Treats will be handed out on the
front porch by the residents.
Halloween will be a busy time at
Morning Pointe of Clinton.
Upcoming Events
Morning Pointe of Clinton will
once again be hosting a
community Bingo game in
October. These are always well
attended and enjoyed by our
residents and the Clinton
community.

Grandparents Day
Families Celebrate
there were a lot of stories told and
laughs shared. You could see the pride
on the faces of all of the grandmothers
and grandfathers. You could also see
the love for their families on their faces.

activities planned for the
fall and holiday season,
and we are looking

Employee of the Month,
Chastity Maples!
Chastity will reach a year
with us in November and
she continues to do a
great job as a Resident
Assistant. Chastity has
an infectious smile, and
she is very passionate
about serving others.

On Sunday, September seventh
Morning Pointe of Clinton hosted a Tea
and Treats party in honor of
Grandparents Day. Everyone in
attendance had delicious snacks to
eat while visiting with their families.
Since we are all one big family here

missed their dogs and the love and
companionship they give. One of the
residents offered to dog sit any- time.
The dogs were rewarded with treats for
their good behavior. I would say that
everyone had a 'doggone' good time.

dogs on National Dog Day. Five dogs
brought their owners to visit with the
residents. It was amazing to see the
interaction between people and
pets.Several residents said they

Velma Herbulock
Velma and Joseph:
On their wedding day in 1941.
Sweet at sixteen,
Even sweeter at ninety-eight.
Born on October 2,1816 in Brownsville,
Pennsylvania, Miss Velma was raised in
a large family. When she was five years
old her parents moved her and her six
siblings to Arnold, PA. Velma attended
school through the eighth grade, that
summer she and three friends went to
New York to do housework, Velma said
that you had to go where the jobs
were. Upon her return to Pennsylvania,
Velma worked as a waitress and at an
A&P store. One Saturday evening Miss
Velma went to a church dance in
New Kensington and this is where she
met her future husband, Joseph. After
a few years of dating they were
married on September 16,1941. Joseph
worked for Alleghany Steel in the Mill
Lab so the young couple set up their
household in Pittsburgh,after a
honeymoon in Canada. Two children
were welcomed into the family,
Joseph, now a lawyer living in
Minnesota. Janice lives in Oak Ridge,
and is a retired Bio-Statistician. Miss
Velma bragged about how smart both
children are and how proud she is of
them. Four grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren round out the family.
Velma never had a drivers license so
she walked to most activities. She
loved walking to parks for picnics. Bus
trips with friends to casino's were
always a fun time. Since moving to
Morning Pointe of Clinton Velma has
made new friends but still writes letters
to family and friends

daily. She does confess that when she
is tired she has Janice send e-mails for
her. Miss Velma says that she has
always been mischievous, maybe that
is the secret to a long life.
