Haunted Forest Festival Meet the challenge of seeing how many people you can get to donate $20 or 20 pounds of food for our two local food shelves. Now through Nov. 1, the City will be accepting non-perishable food items or monetary donations. You can drop off your donations at: • City Hall • The Heritage Center • Any of the three Lakeville Liquor Stores Help us surpass last year’s donation total of $10,000 worth of food! Saturday, Oct. 25 – 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Located at Steve Michaud Park 17100 Ipava Ave. Check the website at mnvotes.sos.state.mn.us/ VoterStatus. If you are not registered, you must register at the polls on election day. Check the requirements on the City website at www. lakevillemn.gov 2. Find your polling place. If you don’t know your polling place, go to pollfinder.sos.state.mn.us Two voting locations have changed since the 2012 General Election: The new polling place for Precinct 1 (formerly the Lakeville Area Arts Center) is now the Heritage Center, 20110 Holyoke Avenue. The new polling place for Precinct 12 (formerly Messiah Lutheran Church) is Cherry View Elementary School, 8600 175th Street West. Avonlea is a residential subdivision, which is proposed on approximately 470 acres of agriculural land along Cedar Avenue, south of the Central Maintenance Facility. Winter Parking Starts Nov. 1 • 1. Make sure you are registered. The Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW) on Avonlea (Mattamy Homes) development is available for review at City Hall, at the Heritage Library, or online at www.lakevillemn.gov. Cost – $10 per carload or $3 per person and a nonperishable food item for the community food shelf. Pre-registration is not necessary! Outdoor event. Please remember to dress for the weather. City of Lakeville Be prepared for the Nov. 4 General Election EAW on Avonlea All ages welcome– families encouraged. Parental discretion advised for the Haunted Forest Trail, recommend 3rd grade and older. It is only two weeks before winter parking restrictions begin. This will mean no cars parked on the streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Now is the time to find overnight parking spaces for your vehicles. There is also no on-street parking when it’s snowing, until after the roads have been cleared. Voting information Dog Licenses The 2015-16 dog licenses are now available at City Hall, the Police Station, and Dakota Pet Hospital. Proof of rabies vaccination is required. Cost is $20 for a two-year license. The project proposes 832 single-family lots and 249 multi-family lots. Approximately 171 acres of open space is also planned, which will include greenway corridors, parks, trails, wetlands, and storm water basins. Comments will be accepted until Nov. 26, 2014. Heritage Center online auction is open! The annual online Heritage Center auction is up and running at K-BID.com. The auction includes a variety of items donated by community members in support of the Heritage Center–a community faciility for seniors, veterans, and history.
