BASD SKI CLUB SIGN UPS
The Bangor Area School District will hold Ski &
Snowboard Club sign ups on Tuesday, October
28th and Wednesday, October 29th for students
in 5th – 12th grades. Sign-ups will be held in the
middle school auditorium at 7pm. This is the only
time for students to sign up for the club. A parent and child must attend one of these nights in
order to participate in the club. In addition a representative from Camelback will be on hand to
run the safety program. Questions regarding the

ZOOT FEST HONORING JAZZ LEGENDS AL
COHN AND ZOOT SIMS
Jazz enthusiasts, get ready for a day of listening pleasure! Tickets are now on sale for East
Stroudsburg University’s fourth annual Zoot Fest,
a day of jazz music honoring legends Al Cohn
and Zoot Sims. Zoot Fest will take place from
noon to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2014
at the Innovation Center, located at 562 Independence Road in East Stroudsburg, with proceeds
to benefit the university’s Al Cohn Memorial Jazz
Collection (ACMJC) as well as other initiatives
to benefit jazz education and preservation in the
Pocono region. Seating for this event is limited
and tickets are now on sale, which includes the
program, lunch and refreshments. For more

FALL CARD PARTY
The Bangor Women’s Club (GFWC) announces
its Fall Card Party on Thursday, October 30, at
11:30 am at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church
in Johnsonville. Cost and includes a soup and
sandwich lunch, with cake and coffee or tea.
Proceeds benefit the Club’s library support and
scholarship funds for local area high school seniors. Come join in the fun. Make up your own

SEASONS OF LOVE
The Music Study Club of the Stroudsburg’s presents a musical “Seasons of Love” on Sunday,
November 16 at 2:30 PM at the Eastern Monroe
Public Library, at 1002 N. Ninth St, Stroudsburg.
Voice students of Linda Baumgardner and Piano
students of Pricilla Day will perform. The accompanist for the event will be Priscilla Day. This program is open to the public free of charge. A business meeting for members will begin at 1:45PM.
On Sunday, November 9, 2014 the Slater Band
Boosters will be hosting a Band Bingo fundraising event at the Blue Valley Farm Show auditorium with all proceeds being used to benefit instrumental students of the Bangor Area School
District. Prizes include items from Longaberger,
Vera Bradley, Coach, Thirty-One, as well as
Alex & Ani. There will be 20 games of bingo,
as well as 5 special raffles, a large tricky tray,
a 50/50 drawing, and door prizes. Tickets are
available in advance. Doors open at 11 am and
the games begin at 1 pm. Anyone attending

FAMILY NIGHT OUT
HALLOWEEN PARTY
Community Presbyterian Church of Mt. Bethel
and Portland will host its monthly
Family Night Out on Saturday, October 25th. A
dinner of Witch’s Stew, with a beverage and dessert will begin at 5:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall.
This month’s event is themed around Halloween
activities such as storytelling! Guests are invited
to wear their Halloween costume and prizes will
be awarded. This event is free to the community.

FALL EVENTS
Join us for two fun fall events at Bushkill Elementary School on October 25. Our annual Train and
Apple Fest will take place from 10am-4pm. Enjoy train rides, a car show, games, vendors, live

our train enters the Haunted Environmental Center for thrills and shrills from scenes along the
track (5:30-6:30pm will be less scary for the little

Stop by Faith Alive Community Church for free

WILLIAMS TOWNSHIP
TO HONOR VETERANS
Williams Township veterans will be honored at
a service on Sunday, November 9, 1 pm, at the
Veterans Memorial on the Williams Township
Municipal campus, 655 Cider Press Rd., Easton.
The public is most welcome. Frances Dreisbach,
Assoc. Professor Emerita of Social Welfare and
Criminal Justice, Kutztown University, will offer
thoughts for the occasion. Children from the Williams Township Elementary School will pay special tribute to each attending veteran and to each
branch of the service. MC for the service will be
township resident and veteran, Lou DiLullo. John
Ansman will lead the moment of silence for veterans who died since November 2013. Flag raising to honor veterans will be carried out by Don
Hockman, Jess Murray, Lester Race, and Mike
Strawn. The children will lead the audience in the
National Anthem. The program is organized by the
Williams Township Veterans Memorial Committee.
