If you are a visitor with us today, please take a moment to sign our visitors’ book in the foyer before you go. `MISSION FOCUS #1 Next week’s Speaker will be DAVID WILLIAMS, Regional Manager for CMS for SA and the NT. His preaching topic will be Mission and the Heart of God. The Key to the Greater Work by Oswald Chambers. “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, … greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. John 14:12 (NKJV) PRAYER does not equip us for greater works — prayer is the greater work. … We must go to God as His child, because only a child gets their prayers answered; a “wise” man does not (see Matthew 11:25). PRAYER is the battle, and it makes no difference where we are. … Wherever God has placed us and whatever our circumstances, we should pray, continually offering up prayers to Him. His promise is in John 14:13. Yet we refuse to pray unless it thrills or excites us, which is the most intense form of spiritual selfishness. … He tells us to pray (Mathew 9:38). There is nothing thrilling about a labourer’s work but it … makes the ideas of a genius possible. And it is the laboring saint who makes the ideas of His Master possible. … May we be in the habit of taking our orders from Jesus Christ. Source: My Utmost for His Highest. October 17th, 2014. Edited by Ian K Field. Newsletter items need to be emailed to: newsletter @woodcroft.org.au by Thursday night. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. MISSION FOCUS #2 The AMT Christmas Offering is coming up in the next few weeks and the details have been sent to all on the WCC contact list. Please prayerfully decide on your level of support as this is a once a year opportunity to be an encouragement to the AMT missionaries. Once again I would like to thank all of you who were involved in the Operation Christmas Child programme this year. 82 boxes were received which have now begun their journeys to the children who will be blessed by the contents. Sue Wratt, Missions Co-ordinator Sue Meggison sadly announces that she is stepping down from MOPS as Coordinator. If anybody is interested in this role or a variety of other roles, please speak to Sue or Harry. We thank Sue for a job well done.
