Scrutiny on transfer pricing has intensified globally, especially with tax authorities
stepping up efforts in their transfer pricing regimes, resulting in increased tax
controversies and disputes. To help you respond to challenges arising from
transfer pricing disputes, Tax Academy of Singapore is pleased to present this
seminar “Transfer Pricing Dispute Resolution in Asia”, featuring OECD speakers,
arbitration and international tax experts, local and regional government officials
who will share their insights and experiences in transfer pricing dispute resolutions
and to provide clarifications on government processes.
Mrs Melissa Muhammad (Tax Advisor, Global Relations Programme, OECD), Mr
Arnim Hilse (Deputy Head of Division, Federal Central Tax Office, Germany) and Mr
Paul Raymond Meaker (Technical Leader (Transfer Pricing), Public Groups and
International, Australian Taxation Office) will provide an overview of BEPS Action
14 and address obstacles preventing countries from resolving disputes under
Mutual Agreement Procedures (MAP).
Mr Rajan Menon, Senior Partner from RHTLaw Taylor Wessing LLP will give an
overview of arbitration in Singapore and its role in international tax disputes.
The seminar will conclude with two panel discussions, which will discuss current
issues in dispute resolution and the future of dispute resolution.
The first panel on current issues in dispute resolution will be moderated by Miss
Jow Lee Ying (Senior Lecturer, Division of Business Law, Nanyang Technological
University). The panel will comprise Mr Vineet Rachh (Associate Director, Taxes,
Procter & Gamble, Singapore), Mr Allen Tan (Principal, Baker & McKenzie.Wong &
Leow), Mr Geoffrey Soh (Head of Transfer Pricing, Partner, KPMG Advisory LLP)
and Ms Sharon Tan (Senior Director, Geography Tax Operations, Nike).
The second panel on the future of dispute resolution will be moderated by Mr
Eugene Lim (Head of Tax, Baker & McKenzie.Wong & Leow). The panel members
will comprise Mrs Melissa Muhammad (Tax Advisor, Global Relations Programme,
OECD), Mr Mansor bin Hassan (Director, Department of International Taxation,
Inland Revenue Board Malaysia), Ms Chow Wai Yee (Assistant Commissioner, Tax
Policy and International Tax Division, IRAS) and Mr Imanul Hakim (Deputy Director,
Audit on Special Transactions, Directorate General of Taxes, Indonesia).
