Prelude
Before the Prelude, speak to one another. During the Prelude, speak to God. During the service, let God speak to you.

Rite for All Saints Sunday – Please stand as you are able and face the baptismal font.
P We make the sign of the cross in remembrance of the day we were baptized, in the name of the
Father, and of the + Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
P Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the source of all mercy and the God of all
consolation, who comforts us in all our sorrows so that we can comfort others in their sorrows
with the consolation we ourselves have received from God.
Christ, the Lamb enthroned above, you call your loved ones home.
C Those believers who have died here on earth, are now welcomed with open arms in your
glorious paradise.
P In many and various ways, your people worshipped and served you in their lives here on earth,
and now live their new lives filled with days of endless praise.
C In the waters of their baptism, you called them to be your own and to follow your will.
P Now by your grace, you call them to come into the realms of heaven, where you have prepared a
special place for them.
C Through the years, your faithful people have made our lives rich with meaning. Now their
lives are enriched by your presence.
P We remember this day the lives of those who touched our lives so deeply.

Now these saints called today reside at your right hand.
In you our loved ones live forever.
In joyful hope, we anxiously await the blessed reunion of all your saints to come:
In you, we, too, shall rise. Amen!
For the Communion of Saints that defies death and time and space to which the
church witnesses,
C we are grateful.
P For the Gospel that proclaims that “life is ever Lord over death and love can never lose its own,”
C we praise you.
P To the task of ministry, to which these we remember today so unselfishly gave of themselves and
their means,
C may we commit ourselves, that their fondest dreams for your church and its mission in the
community and the world, be realized.
P Through Jesus Christ, who is our fondest memory and our greatest hope, we pray.

P So let us pray. Almighty God, you have knit your people together in one communion in the

lives of faith and commitment, and to know the inexpressible joys you have prepared for those
who love you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the
Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
