FAREWELL
Message From The Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Congratula1ons to all our first communicants who celebrated the Sacrament of
Holy Communion for the first 1me on Sunday. What a beau1ful day it was!
There was a wonderful sense of community as parishioners and families looked
on with pride as our children, looking fabulous, displayed respect and piety and
glowed with joy. And how lucky we were to have Father Cesar and Father Jim
join the celebra1ons! Thankyou Mrs Dagger for all you do in preparing the children for the sacraments and for organising such joyous celebra1ons of faith.
Today we again enjoyed that great sense of community when our present Kindergarten parents hosted a “get to know each other” morning tea for our incoming Kindergarten parents Thankyou to Jamie Porter for organising this and to all
the parents who supported it with delicious food and assistance on the day. It will
really make a difference in making our new parents feel more comfortable and
welcome in our school.
This was followed by the whole school community (Are you beginning to sense a
theme here?) celebra1ng Marybell’s Gradua1on and readiness for BIG SCHOOL.
It was incredibly gra1fying to see the look on our li
le Marybell’s students faces
as their big, Year 5 buddies, gave them their cer1ficates and read out everything
they liked about their li
le buddies. This is the beginning of building community.
And apart form our school and parish community we value our wider community
and are proud to be part of the Bellingen community. It is a
great sign of a caring community when a student at our
school, Abigail Hardinge, receives a personal le
er from the
Bellingen Mayor congratula1ng her on her award winning
poem.
And last but not least, Thank you to Mrs. Nell Lee OAM on
behalf of the Bellingen Red Cross for their kind dona1on to
purchase a book for our school library in commemora1on of
Remembrance Day 2014.

Second, I’d like to thank Mrs. Dagger for her pa1ence and dedica1on in preparing you. Also Mrs. Coby Bleys for her work. To Miss Claire and the other
staff and all the parents and children of St.Mary’s.
And finally, I’d like to thank Fr Cesar for filling in for me. You wouldn’t find a
more generous, dedicated or holy priest. So thank you all for your pa1ence
and know that Jesus is especially fond of you, and he will care for you always.
Have a lovely day.
Fr.Jim
Congratula1ons to the children who received their First
Holy Communion on Sunday.
It was a special day for the
children and their families—
made even more so by Fr Jim
coming out of hospital to
surprise and see the children
on their First Communion
day.
Once again thank you to the St.Mary’s
School Community for their ongoing support
of those who are less fortunate than ourselves. The children raised $126 from our
recent SRC Socktober Appeal. This money
goes to Catholic Missions to help the people
of Jamaica who are living in poverty and violence.
Once again thank you for your generosity.
