Culture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: connecting the knowledge dots Special Track
10th International Forum on Knowledge Asset Dynamics IFKAD 2015 Culture, Innovation and Entrepreneurship: connecting the knowledge dots Bari, Italy | 10-12 June 2015 Special Track Managing Knowledge for Innovation: the role of Culture and Cultural Diversities Organizers: Angelo Bonfanti | University of Verona, Italy Rossella Canestrino | Parthenope University of Naples, Italy Pierpaolo Magliocca | University of Foggia, Italy Lorenzo Neri | University of Greenwich, United Kingdom Antonella Russo | Parthenope University of Naples, Italy Description: The track calls for original, inspiring and research-grounded papers about the linkage between Culture and Cultural Diversity and Knowledge Management. Starting from the assumption that firms' innovativeness depends more and more on their capacities to create, acquire, manage, transfer, and store knowledge, the proposed track aims at collecting both theoretical and empirical contributions that evaluate the way values and beliefs may improve or limit firms' Knowledge Management, and innovation, at least. Examining the linkage between culture and innovation is not new at all. A growing body cross-national literature, however, examine how radical innovation varies in firms across the nations (Furman, Porter, and Stern, 2002) mainly focusing on technological innovation, on products and process. Very little is already known about the inner linkage between culture and knowledge that lies upon innovations. Similarly, relatively few investigations address to non-technological innovations, showing how culture and cultural diversity connect to the creation, adoption or diffusion of new and valuable Knowledge within a given organization. According to the above considerations, Multidisciplinary approaches and interdisciplinary contributions will be welcomed and encouraged, in order to give up at a cross-fertilization and to a deep understanding of the complex, and often misunderstood firm's dynamics. Both theoretical and empirical investigations integrating Culture and Cultural Diversity and Knowledge Management will be evaluated. Keywords: Culture, Cultural Diversity, Knowledge Management, Innovation, Financial Accounting Innovation, Management accounting Innovation Guidelines: Researchers wishing to contribute are invited to submit an extended abstract (in Word format) of 1000-1500 words by January 25, 2015. The abstract should address theoretical background, research objective, methodology, and results in terms of expected contribution to Knowledge Management theory and practice. Authors are encouraged to follow the guidelines for both extended abstracts as well as full papers that will be made available on IFKAD site. www.knowledgeasset.org/IFKAD Deadlines • • • • • • 25 January 2015 - Abstracts Submission Deadline 28 February 2015 - Acceptance notification to authors 25 March 2015 - Early-Bird registration deadline 20 April 2015 - Full paper submission deadline 20 May 2015 - Registration deadline 10-12 June 2015 - Conference sessions References: Canestrino R, Magliocca P.
