Target Audience
Physicians in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery, other interested
physicians, fellows, residents, physician assistants, nurse practitioners,
otolaryngology administrators and students.
Course Objectives
This CME activity is intended to update the attendee on current practices in care
of the ear, nose and throat and facial plastic surgery patient. This course also
serves to provide practice management information and patient care information
in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery.

Anyone interested in otolaryngology and facial plastic surgery topics.

Keynote Speakers
Stephen Park, MD, FACS
Stephen S. Park, MD, FACS, is the Director of the Division
of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Professor
and Vice-Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology
– Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Virginia
Health system. His primary clinic interest is in the field of
facial plastic surgery, particularly cutaneous reconstruction
and rhinoplasty. Dr. Park’s scientific research focuses
on innovations in tissue-engineered cartilage using both
animal and human chondrocytes. He is internationally
recognized as one of the leaders in Facial Plastic Surgery
and has authored numerous publications on these topics. He serves on the board
of directors for the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery, for the American Board of Otolaryngology, and is vice-chair of the
Residency Review Committee with the ACGME.
Dr. Park grew up outside Detroit and graduated from Amherst College in 1984.
He then attended the University of Michigan Medical School and received his
otolaryngology training at Tufts University, followed by a fellowship in Facial
Plastic Surgery in Portland. He has been on the clinical faculty at the University
of Virginia since 1994.
D. Bradley Welling, MD, PhD, FACS
D. Bradley Welling, MD, PhD, FACS, is the Chief of
Otolaryngology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and at
Massachusetts General Hospital. He is also the Walter
Augustus Lecompte Professor and Chair of Otology and
Laryngology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Welling’s
specialties include otology and neurotology as well as
vestibular/balance disorders. His clinical interests involve
caring for patients with diseases of the ear and lateral
cranial base. More specifically, he focuses on hearing loss, cochlear implants and
auditory brainstem impants as well as facial paraylsis and deafness related to
Neurofibromatosis type 2 (NF2)-associated tumors.
Dr. Welling completed medical school at the University of Utah and graduate
school with a PhD in Pathobiology at The Ohio State University. He completed
an internship and residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics
and a fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Skull Base Surgery at The Ear
Foundation at Vanderbilt University.

Friday Cocktail Reception

Saturday Luncheon and Great Outdoors Games
Join Annual Fall Meeting attendees for an afternoon of fun in the sun! Enjoy
eating, drinking and outdoor games with fellow otolaryngologists, residents,
administrators, physician extenders and their guests. Attendees will embark on an
adventure at The Grande Lakes Outfitters in a multi-station sporting extravaganza.
You can participate in a beach volleyball tournament or test your skill in the Blast
& Cast laser skeet shooting and fly fishing casting accuracy contests. All events will
take place on the Fairways Lawn at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. If you don’t want
to participate in the Great Outdoors Games, feel free to come join the luncheon
and root for your colleagues. Attendees’ families are invited to join us for this
fun afternoon event. Last year’s beach volleyball tournament featured four family
teams, so make sure to bring your family to get in on the fun!
