THE SCHOOL IS IN NEED OF BEST BUY GIFT CARDS!
CAREER OPPORTUNITY
Each teacher at school has a school-owned laptop for their use to create technologybased lessons. About 11 of these are 5-6 years old, and drawing near to the end of
their lifespan. We are looking to replace these laptops, about 3-5 each year for the
next few years, during times when these products are on sale—Black Friday, Back to
School Sales, etc. Each laptop, with the specifications that the teachers need, costs
approximately $400-$500, including software, at regular price, and we can get them
for $350-$450 or less on sale.
In order to do this, we are looking for assistance in the form of Best Buy gift cards.
You can send donated gift cards in ANY amount (it all adds up!) to the school office
or rectory in an envelope marked “Donation for Laptops”. Please also don’t forget
that there are SEVERAL companies that will match your gift to our school!
The Knights of
Columbus has an
immediate opening for a
Field Agent for a career
opportunity
representing the
member benefits program. We offer a
complete benefits package with this fulltime position. In order to qualify, one
must be eligible for membership in the
Knights of Columbus. For more
information, please call, text or email
Greg Rackers, 636-357-7901 or
greg.rackers@kofc.org
We thank you in advance for your help and support!
2015 Catholic Calendars
Copies of these new calendars are
available in the church and may be
picked up after the Masses beginning
this weekend. These calendars are
published by the Extension Society of
the Catholic Church, and are donated
to our parish by Hutchens Mortuary.
We thank Hutchens for the generosity.
DAY OF RECOLLECTION
Retreats provide the soul with renewed
graces, certainly needed in today’s
world, to keep us faithful and striving for
sanctity. This year, treat yourself to a
day away from the hustle and bustle and
prepare for the God who waits for you.
Join Archbishop Robert Carlson and the
clergy and parishioners of the Cathedral
Basilica of St. Louis for an Advent Day of
Recollection on Saturday, December 6,
2014.
The day begins at 10:00 AM, and
includes two spiritual conferences led by
Archbishop Carlson. Each conference
will be followed by exposition of the
Blessed Sacrament and an opportunity
for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The
day will end with evening vespers at 4:30
PM and the celebration of Mass at 5:00
PM. All conferences and prayer will be
held in the Cathedral Basilica, with a hot
lunch provided for all in Boland Hall.
This special gathering is free (good will
offerings to help offset the cost of lunch
will be gratefully accepted). Though a
free event, organizers request advance
registration to properly prepare worship
materials and set up for lunch. To
register or for additional information,
please contact Laura Voegelie at 314-373
-8208.
Marriage Challenges?
Retrouvaille (a French
word meaning rediscovery)

who are separated and divorced. The
next program begins with the
weekend of February 6-8, 2015.
For further information, call 1-800-4702230 or visit

It’s that simple!
[T]he courage and grace shown by those women who choose life—in the face of fear, uncertainty, parental or partner
intimidation, seemingly insurmountable odds—make them today's heroes. They are joined by the many who counsel, support
and nurture them both before and after the birth of their child. Such self-giving love…is powerfully transformative of mother, of
child, of families, of cultures.”

ADOPT A FAMILY FOR CHRISTMAS
CHRISTMAS ITEMS
NEEDED
Old St. Ferdinand Shrine is looking
for gently used Christmas items to
sell at their Christmas Concert on
December 14. Items can be
dropped off at our rectory by
December 1.
Your St. Vincent de Paul conference has received so many good
comments about the Christmas program. You have touched
many lives and our work continues.
It is that time of year when we ask you to please consider
adopting a family for Christmas!
What is involved? Have a good idea of the amount you would like to donate. No
amount is too large or small. You may reach out to families in several ways. All
who wish to help with any amount we are truly thankful. Those we serve have had
a St. Vincent de Paul home visit and are within our parish boundaries.
Please call our phone line at (314) 289-6101 ext. 2216 for information about
adopting a Christmas family.
