Wine & Brush Class at Flyte’s Fieldstones Mark your calendars for a fun evening this Thursday, January 22nd at 6:00pm. For $35, Fieldstones will provide you with two glasses of complimentary wine and all the supplies to create your masterpiece. Relax and enjoy an evening out. Their talented artists will guide you step-by-step through the night’s featured painting. Classes usually run around 2 hours depending on the complexity of the painting. No art experience is needed. Spaces fill up quickly so reserve your spot today by calling (715) 228-2310 or email: fieldstones@uniontel.net! “Protecting Your Identity: What to Know, What to do” Class The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has reported that in 2013 Identity Theft was the top complaint category. Out of all the complaints the FTC received in 2013, 14% were regarding identity theft. Waushara County Association for Home and Community Education (HCE) will present “Protecting Your Identity: What to Know, What to Do” on Thursday, January 22 at 6:30 pm in the Demo Room of the Waushara County Courthouse. There is a Potluck Social Supper at 5:30 pm. Please call to register for the free program by calling the Waushara County UW-Extension office at 920-787-0416. This Week at the Coloma Hotel Yoga with Annie continues at the Hotel! Join her for Chair Yoga on Mondays and Mat Yoga on Fridays from 9 -1 0 am. Mark your calendars for Wednesday, January 28th! Back by popular demand, the Cody Clauson Trio will play in the hotel living room from 7-9pm every Wednesday. The concert will be free but gratuities will be appreciated. The Coloma Hotel will also be offering a 6 week beginner Spanish course for $12! Marcia Johnson will be teaching this course on Thursdays beginning February 5th from 7-9pm. Slow Cooker Class at the Wautoma Public Library A Slow Cooker Class will be offered to the public by the UW Extension Family Living Program in partnership with the Wautoma Public Library. You can choose one class from two offerings on Friday, January 23 at either 10-11 a.m. or 5-6 p.m. The class will be held at the Wautoma Public Library in the meeting room located at 410 West Main Street in Wautoma. There is no fee for the class. Class content will include how slow cookers work, what foods do well with the slow cooker method, and food safety concerns. A light meal will be served. Cabin Fever Event at Flyte’s Fieldstones Please join Flyte’s Fieldstones on Saturday, January 24th, for their first annual Cabin Fever event from 10am-4pm. Local vendors will line the house with crafts and unique products. The Richford Ridge Riders Snowmobile Club will also have their annual Chili/Brat fry on the grounds. Sleigh rides, ice skating, a bon fire and good food and fun will make this an event you won't want to miss! Vendors that will be present include: Origami Owl, Beauty Control, Advocare, Sassy Pants Signs, Jamberry Nails, Signature Home Style, Paparazzi Jewelry, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Thirty One, and Flyte's Fieldstones Kitchen Collection! Family Ski Day at Nordic Mountain Nordic Mountain and Thrivent Financial are teaming up to sponsor Family Ski Day 2015 at Nordic Mountain on Sunday, January 25th from 2-8pm. The special reduced pricing for Family Day gives many families the opportunity to participate in skiing, snowboarding, and tubing! Your ski package will include a lift ticket, ski rental, meal, free beginner lesson (ages 8+), and an entry into their grand prize drawing! You could also choose the tubing package which includes 3 hour tubing ticket, a meal, and an entry into the grand prize drawing. Normally an $82 value, thanks to the sponsorship of Thrivent Financial, it will only cost you $20 if you preregister and $30 if you pay at the door. Wautoma Rotary Sponsors Open Gym Volleyball Starting to get stir crazy being cooped up in the house? Don’t forget that on Monday Nights (when school is in session) from 6-9pm at Parkside Middle School there is open gym volleyball for interested players. Come and go as you please; arrive later or leave early. Games are structured to be bump, set, spike, but fun and all abilities are welcome. Two courts are available; so up to 24 players can be playing at once. Teams are mixed and matched to keep teams as fair as possible. Must be 18 years or older and sign a waiver. Basket Weaving Class at the Wautoma Senior Center It’s too cold to play outside so come on in to the Wautoma Senior Center and have a great time with the very talented and creative Mary Ann Nielsen! She will be holding a two day basket weaving class for $50 at the Wautoma Senior Center on January 29th and 30th from 10am-3:30pm. The basket will be a small market basket. Space is limited so contact the Senior Center office at 920-787-2055 to sign up! Oakwood’s Opening Weekend Oakwood opens back up on Friday, January 30th for the 2015 season. They will be open Friday’s and Saturdays only. Their winter hours will be 3pm to close on Friday in the bar and 4:30pm to 9pm in the dining room and on Saturdays the bar will be open from noon to close and the dining room will be open from 12-3pm and 4:30-9pm. Also, don’t forget they will have Mason Street Band on Saturday, February 7th at 5:00pm after the Kusel Lake Fisheree! Speakeasy Casino Night Fundraiser The Berlin Area Health Foundation will be hosting a Speakeasy Casino Night Fundraiser on Saturday, January 31st beginning at 6:00pm at the City Inn in Berlin beginning Tickets ($25 each) for the event are now available. Tuesday, February 10th, Fox Valley Technical College in Wautoma will offer two CPR certification classes at the Wild Rose Hospital from 5:00pm-10:00pm. These classes teach and evaluate two-rescuer CPR, one-rescuer CPR, obstructed airway technique for the adult/child/infant, adult/child Automated External Defibrillator, pocket mask and Bag Valve mask. Saturday, February 14th, Waushara County Public Health, Waushara Prevention Council, and the Wautoma Area School District will host Fitness Flurry from 9am-12pm at the Wautoma High School! This event will feature tons of 30 minute workout sessions. You are sure to find something for any age! There will also be fun and educational health resources & exhibits, PLUS some awesome door prizes! Registration begins at 8:30am. February 27th – March 1st, Women of all ages will enjoy a weekend dedicated to crafting at Camp LuWiSoMo. Participants may choose between creating cards and gifts using stamping, preserving memories through scrapbooking, or spending time knitting, crocheting, or quilting.
