BUSINESS
INTERRUPTION –
BEYOND GROSS
MARGIN
The Oil, Petrochemical and Energy
Industries have a long history of major
property losses, some of which have
resulted in significant “consequential
loss” – BI. Not all such BI losses have
been insured. BI losses are most often
greater in quantum than the associated
PD loss. Historically BI insurance has
been viewed as “expensive”.
BI has always had an air of mystique in
insurance circles but the real tough
decisions are mostly with the insureds.
The seminar aims to take away some
of the mystery and to improve
understanding of the BI proposition. It
is aimed at risk engineers, surveyors,
loss adjusters, brokers, underwriters,
risk managers, lawyers and all who are
involved in the insurance market for
energy risks.
Seminar Topics include:




Scale of BI Losses –
Insured/Uninsured/
How to quantify exposure level –BI
Claims and Adjustment – Forensic
investigations etc.
BI Insurance policy wording(s)
Risk Survey Reports – what do u/w
want to see re BI?
