Psalm 29:10b states that our King sits enthroned forever—this statement is important
for us as followers. We are not meant for the throne; however, there is a desire deep
within us to make the throne ours. If we are honest, we would love to be in complete
control of our lives and live however we want. We commit treason by kicking God off
the throne of our hearts and retaining control. God designed our lives to work best
when He is in control. Our desires must shift from the throne to the One who sits on
the throne. The hope for the weekend is that God will remove us from the throne of
our lives and He will be enthroned at the rightful place as King in our hearts. Our lives
belong to the King; the throne in heaven belongs to the King; the throne in our heart
also belongs to the King. It is time to be dethroned!

Last year Parkside participated in the following:
• Built three handicap accessible ramps for members
of our church.
• Sent out 30 care packages to current service men
and women serving both stateside and overseas.
• During VBS the children collected school supplies
and pennies for the community in Aurora, Colorado
where Mine Alexander is serving.
• 22 members served alongside of Metro World Child
in New York City.
• 25 members worked with Builders for Christ in
Virginia building a church.
• 18 youth and adults worked with Voice of Hope
sharing the Good News in Nicaragua.
• 18 youth and adults worked with Mission Arlington
to share about Jesus in the apartment complexes.
• 25 members helped with the Fall Festival Pancake
Breakfast which raised funds for Grayson County
Shelter, Helping Hands, and the Ministerial Alliance
Prescription Fund.
• Many members helped provide food and serve meals
during Angels of Light to the community of Mauk
Circle and 25 of our homebound members.
• Numerous members prayed or gave so that others
could hear.
• Countless others of you shared the good news of
Jesus with your friends and neighbors.
Thank you for being a part of God’s work and for caring
enough about others to tell them about Jesus. Looking
forward to what 2015 has to bring.
