Practical Aspects of the Goods & Services Tax (GST) for Lawyers

The Speaker: Datuk G.B.B. Nandy @ Gaanesh, JP, AMN is a frequent speaker in seminars, among others, the seminars organised by
the Inland Revenue Officers’ Union in Sabah, Sabah Law Association and other institutions. He has presented various papers relating
to revenue law and other related subjects. Among others, his article on “Tax Implications In Disposing Shares In A Real Property
Company” has been published in the Current Law Journal [1998] 3 CLJ Supp. Currently he is a partner in the legal firm name Messrs
Gaanesh & Co, and his area of practice consist of revenue law, company law and Sabah Land Law, among others. Before practising as
a lawyer, he practised as a public accountant for about 15 years where he specialised in the field of corporate and revenue law. He
has been handling various corporate and tax-related cases and also providing advice to others on tax and corporate issues, among
others, on setting aside of meetings, dispute involving shareholders and directors of private limited companies. Apart from being
legally qualified, he possesses the following qualifications:(a) Fellow of the Association of Chartered and Certified Accountants, U.K.;
(b) Fellow of the Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, U.K.;
(c) Fellow of the Malaysian Institute of Taxation;
(d) Chartered Accountant (Malaysia) - Member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (Chartered Accountant); and
(e) Certified Public Accountant (Malaysia) - Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants;

• Places are limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Upon signing-up you are required to settle the fee payable regardless of your actual attendance.
• Cancellations must be made in writing. There will be no refunds for cancellations made after 24 Feb 2015 (Tueesday) but
substitutions are allowed.
• The organiser reserves the right to modify, cancel or postpone the event, should circumstances arise that make such action
necessary, whereupon all registration fees paid will be refunded.
• Points for the Continuing Professional Development (“CPD”) Scheme will not be awarded to Members of the Bar who arrive
more than 15 minutes late, are not present throughout the event, or leave before its scheduled end.
