ST. JOHN’S BREAD AND LIFE
This ministry, rooted in St. John the Baptist,
carries on the good work of the Vincentian
Fathers and the Daughters of Charity. Their
mobile soup kitchen is a customized
Recreational Vehicle serving daily hot meals
and providing outreach services to a number
of New York City’s most impoverished
communities located in East New York,
Brownsville, Woodside, Jackson Heights,
Coney Island and Williamsburg. Their
guests receive a nutritious meal served in a
friendly manner.
On Ash Wednesday, we will be accepting
your contributions in support of their work
of charity.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK
YOU…
The Annual Catholic Appeal supports many
ministries and services that are essential to
the life of the church in Brooklyn and
Queens. In 2014, 331 Families and
individuals from our parish made gifts to the
appeal. I am happy to report that we went
over our goal and as a result the parish
received a check in the amount of $1050.00
to be used here in St. Francis. Msgr. John J.
Bracken

the Church in this way, contact the Vocation

MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA – Every
Monday morning after the 9:00 AM Mass.
WISDOM OF POPE FRANCIS
What has the Cross given to those who
have gazed upon it and to those who have
touched it? What has the cross left on
each one of us? You see, it gives us a
treasure that no one else can ever give:
the certainty of faithful love which God
has for us. A love so great that it enters
into our sin and forgives it, enters into
our suffering and gives us the strength to
bear it. It is a love which enters into
death to conquer it and save us.
SEA BREEZE GOLDEN AGE – will have
their meeting and Bingo on Wednesday, Feb.
18th at 12:00 PM in the small hall. All Senior
Members of the parish are invited to come
and join us. Please bring food for the needy.

REMEMBER, YOU ARE DUST,

THAT THEY WILL NOT LIVE FOREVER.
GOD DOES CONTROL OUR LIVES
AND HE ALONE KNOWS WHEN
WE WILL BE FREE TO JOIN HIM.
