BRITISH EMBASSY, BRASILIA A2(L) Visits and Political Assistant Main purpose of job: To coordinate incoming UK visits to Brazil, including of ministers and senior officials, and to provide advice and assistance to teams organising the visits. To provide research, political analysis and admin support related to South Atlantic relations and other political issues. The job-holder will be responsible for: Advise the Brazil Network in organising and running incoming and outgoing visits, including coordinating incoming visits, ensuring visitors’ programmes support the Brazil Network’s objectives, and overseeing financial processes and risks. To provide political analysis, research and admin support to the Political Team, with a particular focus on South Atlantic relations. Required Experience and Skills: The successful applicant will have a university degree (an asset if in International Relations or related area) or have two years relevant work experience; an excellent command of written and spoken English and Portuguese; and excellent IT skills (MS Word and Excel). They will have excellent organisational skills and good political judgment. They will be able to work both independently and as part of a team (including a virtual team); communicate well (orally and in written form); be flexible and able to deal with multiple tasks and priorities, and work well under pressure.
