Read the Chimes online at www.chimesnews.net Thursday, February 19, 2015 Avenal’s Local News Volume 19 Number 50 Summary of February 12, City Council meeting The Avenal City Council/Successor Agency/Housing Authority met at a joint meeting on Thursday, February 12, 2015 in the Avenal Theater. The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. followed by the pledge of allegiance led by Mayor Casida. Government Code Section 54952.3: The members of the City Council, Successor Agency and Housing Authority are entitled to receive a total of $150.00 each as a result of convening a meeting as the City Council, Successor Agency and Housing Authority and, unless declined, each member will receive $150.00 (maximum aggregate of $300.00 per month per member) as a result of convening a meeting as the City Council, Successor Agency and Housing Authority. All items listed under the consent calendar are considered to be routine and enacted by one motion: (Action) • City of Av e n a l / S u c c e s s o r Agency/Housing Authority–Approval of Minutes for January 22, 2015: • City Warrants and Financial Statement for January: Approved as recomended by councilman Ovalle and Preciado. Mayor and Council Member/Successor Agency/Housing Authority member reports/items for consideration: Assistant Chief Stivers introduced New Intern Maria Campos. • Consider Scheduling a Town Hall Meeting with Suggested Topics: (Discussion/Action). Town Hall Meeting: March 5, 2015 – 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Approved as recommended by council members Ovalle and Woolley. No public comments were offered. Reports were given There were no public hearings. Old Business: • Consider Extending Local Emergency Declared on February 27, 2014: Approved as recommended by council members Woolley and Preciado. New Business: • Consider Management Plan (PSM) for Chlorine System: Ronald Brumley, Utilities Supervisor RESOLUTION NO. 2015-04: Approved as recommended by council members Preciado and Ovalle. • Compliance Order: Violation of the Stage 2 Disinfection Byproduct Rule (TTHM): Ronald Brumley, Utilities Supervisor (Information). Report was given • Consider Addendum to Agreement No. 1167 Between the City of Avenal and the CrisCom Company to Extended Services: Rusty Stivers, Assistant Chief of Police. RESOLUTION NO. 201505: Approved as recommended by council members Ovalle and Preciado. • Consider Upgrade to City Hall Phone System with Carrier/Avaya: Esther Strong, Administrative Analyst. RESOLUTION NO. 201506: Approved as recommended by council members Gravelle and Woolley. • Consider Adopting ROPS for July 1, 2015 – December 31, 2015: Dawn Perkins, Administrative Analyst. RESOLUTION NO. 201507: Approved as recommended by council members Gravelle and Preciado. • Consider Resolution to Av enal’s Week end Weather Sunny, Highs in the mid 70’ s and lows in the low 40’ s.
