If you are our GUEST, please feel free to speak with our iWelcome hosts, Mr Kendrick Chua or Mr & Mrs Aloysious WMK to learn more about our ministry such as Sunday School, Cell Group Ministry, Prayer etc... b) We are in the season of Lent. Let’s prepare our hearts as we encounter our Lord Jesus in His earthly ministry leading to His crucifixion on Good Friday. We have sent Easter 2015 Letters to members and friends. If you are not in our mailing list, please collect a copy from our ushers today. c) Rev Derrick Lau is the preacher for our 11.00 am Traditional Service today. Pray for the Lord’s anointing. Sermon: The Wrath of the Word | John 2:12-16 Prayer Concerns. a) The first Commandment that Moses received was “You shall have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3). Therefore, let’s devote ourselves to the worship of our Almighty God and let there be no other gods besides Him. b) Our Lord Jesus says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life.” Let’s pray for a spirit of faith to the precious and eternal Word of God. c) “Hear the supplications of your servant and of your people Israel when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven, your dwelling place; and when you hear, forgive.” (2 Chronicles 6:21). This was the prayer of King Solomon after he has built the Temple in Jerusalem. May this be our prayer today! d) “Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction” 2 Timothy 4:2. Let’s pray that the Good News will be shared amongst all people. Pray in particular for the Alpha Course that is conducted on Wednesday evenings in church. Pray for receptive hearts to the messages. e) The Psalmist declares, “Let all creation rejoice before the Lord, for he comes, he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in his faithfulness.” (Psalm 96:13). Let’s rejoice in Him and always be ready to welcome His return. f) Let’s pray for Christ’s healing grace to be upon those who are ill. Let’s continue to pray unceasingly. If you have a prayer concern, you may like to share it with our pastors or email it to prayer@mci.org.sg. In our world today, everything comes with a price. Fame, acceptance, security and even love. We say we love one another, yet we do not know how. In kind, everyone goes through heartaches and pain just to love and be loved. Is love nothing more than a fanciful lie? None of us are perfect, and little can change that. To love one another past their flaws, that makes love true. To be loved unconditionally by someone, that makes love powerful. As we struggle to love in a world that has lost its will to love, MCI Creative Arts Ministry brings “All for Love’’ – a musical inspired by the greatest love story ever in history. For the first time ever, there will be Chinese subtitles and original songs! 3 April 2015, Good Friday | 4 April 2015, Saturday | 7.30 pm | JPG Hall Invitation cards and complimentary tickets will be available soon. 10. 5-week Course on The Life and Ministry of Paul (Min – 20 pax to start) 5, 12, 19, 26 April & 3 May 2015 | 1.30 pm – 3.00 pm Harmony, Inspiration Room | Cost: $20 | Closing Date: 29 March 2015 Come and learn more about this interesting Apostle and Missionary, and how his life lessons can also be ours! Please register @ infoHub. 11. A problem arises and expectations were imposed upon him. But Jesus’ reply was quite shocking, even by first-century standards! Why did he respond the way he did? And what can we learn from Mary and the servants in their own responses to Jesus? Sermon Points Jesus’ reply to Mary communicated: i. Polite ___________ : He was here to do the ________ of the ______________. ii. There will be ________________ : it was not time for him _______________________. Truth about God: God does things in His __________________________ and ____________. Mary and the servants’ response: 1. ____________ (that your request will be answered) + 2. _______________ (to the way and time God will answer it) + 3. _______________ (to His instructions) Result = ______________________ God. Discussion Questions 1. Was there a time when something God wanted you to do required you to give difficult answers to your family members, friends, or colleagues? If yes, share your experience and how you felt. 2. If God responds to your prayer in way contrary to your preference, would you be willing to accept it by faith? Why or why not? 3. Share a time when you chose to obey God’s instructions even though you would have preferred not to, and how you received His blessings as a result of your obedience.
