Condolences
As a church family we express our sympathy to the following:
Elenore Simpson whose husband, Earl, passed away on April
17th. At Earl's request there was no memorial service held.
Pray for the Lord to comfort Eleanore as she mourns her loss.
Eleanore attends the liturgical service.
Student Summer Ministry Burseries
They are available for students who will be volunteering at any
summer camp or Bakerview’s day camp. Application forms are
available in the Youth Centre, the literature stand by the
mailboxes in the foyer, or at the church office. Please submit
applications to the church office by June 30th.
Women’s Ministry
Frank Suderman whose wife, Annie, passed away May 1. A
memorial service was held at Bakerview on May 7th. Annie
was a sister to Abe Friesen and Nettie Wall who also attend

and the extended family peace.
Milkshakes and Macchiatos will continue again this summer!
It’s a time of gathering together with our favourite beverage and
stay connected through the summer. We hope to arrange our
times together visiting some of your gardens or patios! If you
would like to host a small group to come to your place on June
17, July 8, July 22, August 5 or August 19, let Lesley know at
the church office by May 31, 604-859-4611 or email
lesley.dick@bakerview.org with your choice of dates.
Engaging the Bible, 2015
Sunday Morning Parking Lot Security
Are you reading? Are you reflecting on scripture daily? Are
we all living it out? It’s our ongoing challenge.
As well as reading, studying, memorizing and
hearing it preached … now you can watch it!
Tune in to watch the Bible as portrayed in A.D.
The Bible continues, Sundays at 9:00 pm on
NBC. Also you can watch episodes on computer, http://
www.nbc.com/ad-the-bible-continue or on You Version
Bible App. Twelve episodes based on the New Testament.
More volunteers are urgently needed to fill vacant spots to
keep our vehicles on the church parking lot secure on
Sundays. Brandon Collison is the supervisor. Please contact
him to volunteer or for more information at 1-775-855-4236 or
e-mail brandoncollison@gmail.com.

God, Sex & Church
Canadian Mennonite Brethren have embarked as a
denominational community on a conversation about what their
Christian commitments entail in terms of the expression of
their human sexuality.
To prepare for October’s study conference in Winnipeg the
Canadian Board of Faith and Life (BFL) has prepared a study
guide for use by all Canadian Mennonite Brethren churches
and leaders. This study guide, based on Scripture and the
Mennonite Brethren Confession of Faith, provides direction,
guidance, and excellent discussion questions and is available
at http://studyconference.mennonitebrethren.ca. The BFL
wants as many Mennonite Brethren as possible to have the
opportunity to pray and think well about human sexuality.

LCC International
University Summer
Language Institute
LCC International University is seeking English language
teachers with a heart for teenagers to engage in our Summer
Language Institute, a three week program for European
youth, primarily ages 14-24. Nearly 260 students come from
different countries to live together and to study English. Most
students are intermediate to advanced learners. Besides
teaching, teachers participate in conversation groups and
homework sessions.
For more info http://lccslilithuania.wordpress.com/ Complete
the online inquiry form at http://www.lcc.lt/teachingapplication-process. The program dates for teachers
(including orientation) are July 6 – August 2, 2015. It’s a very
intense, fast paced month; if you have creative ideas for
engaging youth in language learning, consider volunteering
with us! Pray with us that we will find the right teachers for
this program.
