On May 7th Broadland residents elect a new local Council as well as deciding a new MP and government. 3 Whatever the General Election result it is vital that Horsford and Felthorpe elects the right people as our Councillors. We need to keep a strong local team who will work hard all year round and put our villages first. This is why voters of all shades of political opinion are backing Veronica Beadle and Virginia Sokalsky. 1 Veronica has previously been your District Councillor for seven years and has gained significant knowledge and experience. Virginia not only lives in Horsford, she was born in the village and knows it well. To be a strong voice for Horsford & Felthorpe To put what is best for our villages ahead of party politics. We will work to make sure the Council gives our villages a fair share of resources. Veronica says “I was proud to serve as your Local Councillor, best part of the job is being able to help residents and get positive results on their behalf. Virginia says “There will be a lot of challenges in the next 4 years. A lot of building is being put through in the area as well as the NDR. We will put our area first, ahead of party politics. Horsford and Felthorpe are villages and we must preserve them that way” Pledges to you 2 To work all year round 3 To work as part of a team Veronica & Virginia will always put Horsford & Felthorpe first “We back Steve for MP” More and more residents are backing Steve Riley to be the new MP for Broadland as it’s time we had an MP who puts this area first! The first issue that Steve will take up of he is elected is to seek a change in the law that gives residents & Parish Councils a right to appeal over controversial planning decisions. At the moment developers can appeal when they are turned down but there is no Way for residents to challenge when plans are passed that are bad for the local community. Steve says “Tory run Broadland District Council has opened the floodgates for building and development in our area. This is good news for developers but bad news for residents, most of whom live in Broadland to be near the countryside, not to have the suburbs creep closer to them. Our Tory MP has often been silent on this. I will stand up for you” We will deal with issues you raise promptly & report back. We will maintain close links with your Parish Councils We will work with your Parish Council & residents groups. We will seek to keep you informed of important decisions. Veronica & Virginia hope to soon be working with Steve Riley as new MP for Broadland. We think Steve will make a huge difference to our area & we hope you will support him to get elected On Thursday 7th May, back the team that works for you all year round...
