General Position Description: Greenhills Christian Fellowship Vancouver is a multi-ethnic community of Christfollowers whose mission is all about knowing Jesus and making Him known by living lives that are changed through the power of God's love and grace. We believe life in Christ should never look like a life without Him. We are all about serving those around us, giving sacrificially, gathering with other believers to study the Word of God, celebrating our lives in Jesus and reaching out from wherever God puts us so that others might know Christ’s love in our city, region, province, country and around the world. We have an average Sunday morning attendance of 60, with about 50 percent composed of kids, youth and young adults that signify a visible ministry opportunity that is promising for the next generations. We are a proud supporter of three children through Compassion International that is being funded by Sunday School giving. A regular lunch is being served after the worship service to encourage sharings and fellowship among the body of believers. Our weekdays activities revolves around Bible Study meetings and Sports activities. Annual activities include a garage sale with the proceeds going to local organizations, a four day summer camp, VBS, Church Anniversary celebration, special Christmas celebrations and other similar gatherings. Overall Responsibility To spiritually and skillfully shepherd the members and attendees of GCF-Vancouver in worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry and outreach toward those who live in the Lower Mainland and area. Main Duties; - To lead in fulfilling the strategic vision of the church. To develop spiritual leaders in the church. To provide systematic education for the church. To ensure sustainable sowing through the church. To perform other pastoral tasks as follows; i. Preach weekly message ii. Visit/lead/facilitate growth groups (Bible Study groups) and people, especially the sick and grieving iii. Counsel people with hurts, habits, and hang-ups iv. Officiate weddings and funerals v. Lead the ordinances of communion and baptism vi. Facilitate church discipline and conflict management in the church. vii. Oversee stewardship and organizational matters. viii. Leads/organizes the staff/volunteer team of the church. ix. Champion the training programs of the congregation through teaching, coaching, and mentoring x. Represent the church within the structure of GCF Canada and CBWC and attend various conferences when possible. Qualifications: Education: - Bachelor degree in Theology or other acceptable pastoral degree (Masters Degree is an asset but not required) Ordination (or eligibility) for ministry with the CBWC Character Qualities: - Shall be those found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. Possess strong leadership skills with gentleness and with respect Entertain new ideas for continuous development of the Church and its members Shows humility and servant-like attitude Have excellent interpersonal and communications skills Desire to plant churches locally and beyond Experience: - 2 to 5 years pastoral leadership role in a multicultural environment (experience working with Filipino community is an asset but not required) Exemplary preaching Working with youth and young adults Counselling (Family, Spiritual faith, Educational, etc.) Commitment: - Adherence to CBWC, GCF Canada and other GCF satellite churches locally and abroad Plant churches locally and beyond Develop Spiritual leaders Remunerations: - This is a full time salaried position based on 40 hours per work week and flexible to congregational needs.
