About the Speaker
Amy Butchko
Amy Butchko, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, is a Senior Recruiter with SAIC, Inc., based in
McLean, VA. She has 15 years of experience hiring technical, analytical,
executive, and highly cleared individuals. She brings unique perspectives from
a career path that’s included a staffing agency, several start-up companies, and
nearly 10 years consulting with some of the biggest companies on the planet
filling large government contracts.
Amy has a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Ohio University and a
Certificate in Human Resources from George Mason University. She’s also
achieved Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from
HRCI, and recently obtained the SHRM Senior Certified Professional
certification which she maintains through engagement with SHRM and her
current role as Past President of the Fauquier Culpeper SHRM chapter.
As a Gen-Xer who came of age without a digital footprint, Amy's social media
expertise has come as a result of her experimental nature and her curiosity to
learn from others that requires constant care and feeding with books, classes
and seminars on the topic.
Amy stays active with her husband, Michael, and daughter Sadie, enjoying
kayaking, biking and playing bad tennis. An avid wellness enthusiast, Amy can
be found in her non-recruiting hours in her garden or teaching cooking and
digestive health classes inspired by her training as a health coach.
