April 19, 2015
Third Sunday of Easter
Announcements
Welcome to our worship as we gather to give praise
to God and receive God’s blessing through his Word
and Sacrament.
A Nursery Room is available for you to take your
child/children and listen to the service. Please see an
usher with any questions.
The Altar Flowers have been sponsored by Jean
Shaffer in Honor of Dale and Mary Jane Moyer’s 50th
Wedding Anniversary.
The Special Congregational Meeting to vote on the
building proposal is now scheduled for May 3, 2015.
There will be one service at 9:15 am with the meeting
following.
Beginning today, there will be Communion
Instruction for our Kindergarten and first grade
students during the Sunday School hour, led by the
Pastor. These classes will be held April 19 and 26
and May 10 and 17. Parents are also welcome to
attend.
Rice Bowl Offering: The Giving in Service Team
would like to thank the congregation for supporting
our Rice Bowl project during the Lenten Season.
Special thanks to our Sunday Church School children
for their participation. Your gifts will be shared with
The Food Cupboard at Emmanuel Evangelical
Congregational Church in Hatfield, Manna on Main
Street in Lansdale and the World Hunger Appeal
through the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America.
These special offerings will touch the lives of those in
our area as well as around the world who are in need
of food and shelter.
Last year during Hatfield Borough's Roll and
Stroll event, Grace distributed 60 tomato plants to
visitors to our church. This year the Inreach
Team has decided to expand its efforts. Keeping
with our "Growing in God's Grace" mission, the team
plans on distributing tomato plants to the community
during the May 18th event as well as our Sunday
School students and house bound church members
who may want to have a patio tomato plant. We want
to encourage tomato plant recipients to share their
bounty with others when the fruits ripen. To make it
even more special, we are asking Grace members for
their recipes that feature tomatoes. Inreach will be
compiling the recipes to distribute to those receiving
plants. Ideally if the recipes can be emailed, it would
make it easier to input into the recipe program, but
handwritten recipes are most welcome too. The
deadline for recipes is May 3rd. They can be emailed
to kaystone@comcast.net.
Heidelberg UCC, Emmanuel EEC, and Grace
Lutheran Annual Golf Outing:
Calling all golfers! The annual golf outing fundraiser
that supports Vacation Bible School will be held on
Saturday May 9, 2015 at Mainland Golf Course.
Create your own foursome or sign up and we'll put
you with a team. The cost is $80.00 per golfer and
includes dinner at Heidelberg following the outing. If
you don't golf you can still support Bible School by
sponsoring a hole for $25.00. Please sign up on the
sheet in the Narthex. All checks should be made to
Heidelberg UCC. For more information contact Jeff
Krout at 267-253-9939. Thanks!
But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their
strength renewed. They will rise on wings like
eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will
walk and not grow weak. Isaiah 40:31
(The Good News Bible)
Our Father in Heaven: Through constant prayer and
unwavering trust we acknowledge your wisdom and
guidance in helping us to plan for the renovation and
building goals at Grace Lutheran Church. We also
acknowledge that we have a long way to go. Please
continue to lead us, and in your name, we will walk,
run and wing our way to the finish line! In Jesus
name we pray. Amen
