Development Associate Grameen America, Inc. Grameen America is a nonprofit microfinance institution, headquartered in New York, whose mission is to alleviate poverty through entrepreneurship by offering loans, savings programs, credit establishment, and financial services to low-income individuals in the U.S. Grameen America is built upon the success of the Grameen Bank in Bangladesh and its founder Dr. Muhammad Yunus, who were jointly awarded the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for their pioneering work alleviating poverty and establishing economic rights as a human right. Grameen America is seeking an experienced full-time Development Associate, who is committed to excellence. The individual will support the Development team of the New York Office and will be responsible for grant writing, reporting, data management, research and project-based work. Responsibilities The Development Associate support the Development Team in their fundraising activities related to foundation, government and corporate funding. The right individual will have background in fundraising and a successful track record in writing proposals and reports. Assist in fundraising efforts for institutional giving including: o Drafting, writing and editing grant proposals and funder reports o Maintaining fundraising pipelines and conducting prospecting research under the guidance of the Director of Development and the Senior Vice President of Development o Identifying and researching new prospects, locally, regionally and nationally o Maintaining calendar of due dates of grant proposals and reports under the guidance of the Director of Development o Become an expert on existing donors, prospects and how to communicate our work to supporters o Maintain funder and prospect records in the Salesforce database and shared drive o Produce compelling collateral, presentations, reports and other materials for funders, partners and advisors Plan and assist with fundraising and special events Skills and Personality: 1. Excellent written communication 2. Strong computer skills a. Must be proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel (advanced in Excel preferred) b. Previous database experience required, Salesforce experience a plus c. Formatting nerds preferred 3. Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills 4. Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects independently and complete an assignment timely and accurately 5. Self-starter with a positive attitude 6. Team player with a collaborative work style REQUIREMENTS: 1.
