As we begin a new year, we take a look at our goals for the coming year.
In keeping with our logo, “Feed my Lambs”, we ask how are we feeding
our lambs. Are we reaching those who are most in need of guidance? We
want to take the opportunity to reach out to those who are not members
of the UMW and help them to learn more about the organization. We
also want to reach out to units that are struggling and help them with
ideas on how to become a stronger unit.
We also want to encourage each unit and each member to do what is
needed to help us meet our financial goal this year. Encourage more Five
Star Women within the unit. Encourage each unit to become a Five Star
Unit. Encourage each unit to take a Mission Giving Offering at each unit
meeting. This would be above the pledge to missions, the gift in honor,
the World Thank, and the Special Mission Recognition Pin.
We look forward to the upcoming SIS event March 14-15. We have a
good speaker, Kim Mink, who will tie “Feed my Lambs” into “The Best
Yes”. All women are invited to this event, especially the younger
women, but also those who are young at heart.
We hope to see many of you at our events, both on the District and
Conference levels. If you have never been to any of these events, take
the time to attend. You will surely be blessed.

2015—2016 Holston Conference UMW Logo
Theme: Feed My Lambs John 21:15 based on the passage from John 21:15-17.
The artist of our logo is Debbie Watson of Christ United Methodist Church in the
Knoxville District.
“This design represents Jesus as the cross and his repeated question to Peter as the heart
on the cross. Jesus’ directive to Peter and to us all, “Feed My Lambs,” is at the foot of the
cross where all lambs gather.”

41ST ANNUAL
SPIRITUAL ENRICHMENT EXPERIENCE
APRIL 25-26, 2015
How are you making our theme “Feed My Lambs” real in your life? In you unit? In your
church?
The Reverend Amy Probst will be leading us in the Holston Conference United Methodist
Women’s 41st Spiritual Enrichment Experience at Lake Junaluska on April 25th and 26th.
She is currently serving at First Farragut UMC in the Oak Ridge District.
Music leader is Tawana Teague and the accompanist is Frederica Cook. Both are from the Abingdon District.
Plans are being made for Gathering music prior to the opening worship in Stuart Auditorium.
Personal Spiritual Growth Opportunities will fill the afternoon after the first session and will
include but are not limited to Prayer Room in Harrell Center, Prayer Activities in Memorial
Chapel, the Prayer Labyrinth next to the Memorial Chapel, many Gardens to visit on the campus and personal time around the lake. The evening worship service will be a continuation of
our lessons from Rev. Probst. Sunday morning will bring us all together to worship once again
experiencing an opportunity to leave refreshed, encouraged, and uplifted in the Holy Spirit to
go forth and “Feed My Lambs.”
We will enjoy liturgical dancer, Tina Morgan from the Cleveland District, as she provides another avenue of expressing worship through music and dance that has been a part of Hebrew
culture long before King David’s time.
We will be sharing more in the brochure for Spiritual Enrichment Experience that will be
mailed in the near future. It will be available on www.holstonumw.org, along with the forms
for registration to be sent to Beverly Smith, our Conference Registrar. A form for room reservation, should you wish to send a check in the mail to Lake Junaluska, and the Childcare Provision form will also be on the website.
This event has been moved back to April to provide more women the opportunity to attend.
Won’t you consider bringing friends to this event and make a weekend of memories. The lake
is beautiful, the event is spiritually uplifting, friendships are made and/or renewed, and the
time is enjoyable in many ways.
We are doing our best to hold your costs down. Come, enjoy Lake Junaluska and be encouraged to “Feed My Lambs.”

Attention Readers:
You need to read five (5) books, one from each category. If you purchase your books at
the Spring Meeting in Hillsville, you will not have to pay postage. The report on the
number of books read will be reported to me by Dec. 1st. Therefore it would be good to
get started..
You might not like every book but the purpose is to expose us to the changing world
and help us to be more rounded women of faith.
