l JARED CAVALLI Jared Cavalli 0430 318 799 jared.cavalli@uqconnect.edu.au linkedin.com/in/jaredcavalli Sunday, 29 March 2015 Dear Hiring Manager, I am writing to express my interest in a graduate civil engineering position with your company. I have recently graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Engineering (Extended Civil) and am interested in finding a position that allows me to continue learning and gradually work towards a management position and professional chartership. It is my hope, that by working for your company I will be given the opportunity to expand my engineering knowledge and achieve these goals. In my final year at university I had the opportunity to gain practical experience by working for the Reinforced Earth Company. In this position I was responsible for the preparation of quality documents for the Tintenbar to Ewingsdale Highway Upgrade that were sent directly to the client. This project required me to be highly organised and efficient and to maintain regular contact with the client. As well as this responsibility, I would report directly to the regional manager and was called upon for tasks such as project scheduling, site inspections, site safety and management of the production of precast concrete panels, including the pre/post pore checks for quality control. Previous to this I was employed as an undergraduate engineer with Pekol Traffic & Transport where I was able to gain knowledge in the use of GIS software, modelling and excel data sheets while working on the Queensland road freight project. I have also spent two years working for wotif.com, where I was responsible for hotel support and data analysis. From this I was able to broaden my statistical analysis skills with the use of python, SQL, raw data and pivot tables. I also have over eight years of practical experience in an engineering environment. During this period I worked for Rocket Swimming Pools and BMB Concreting. From both jobs, I gained valuable on site experience including site safety, people skills and leadership qualities. I am currently living in Brisbane but would be happy with the opportunity to relocate for a position. Please see my attached resume and contact me for any further information. I hope to have an opportunity to meet with you and discuss any upcoming opportunities. Kind regards, Jared Cavalli JARED CAVALLI 0430 318 799 jared.cavalli@uqconnect.edu.au l JARED CAVALLI Jared Cavalli 0430 318 799 jared.cavalli@uqconnect.edu.au linkedin.com/in/jaredcavalli Engineering problems are under-defined; there are many solutions, good, bad and indifferent. The art is to arrive at a good solution. This is a creative activity, involving imagination, intuition and deliberate choice. - Ove Arup Objective I believe this quote accurately depicts the reason I chose to be an Engineer. I am the type of person that always needs to get to the bottom of how and why something works. I find new and interesting ways to solve a problem.
