About this company
Organization Overview
We are a 501(c)3 non-profit comprising a network of Eastern Carver County churches helping people in
need. Because Jesus loves us, we want to bring hope and lasting change to hurting people. We seek a way
beyond traditional charity, towards empowering, developmental compassion:
• We believe the cycle of poverty can be broken, but it takes time.
• We believe in hand-ups, not hand-outs. Sometimes it is better to say “no” to a recurring request for aid
and look for ways to help people with training, mentoring, and relationship.
• Each person with whom we interact, both volunteers and people in need, is valuable and has something
they can contribute to their community.
•
•
Our model uses very few paid staff. There are hundreds of people in churches who want to serve
their community, so everything we do involves volunteers from the churches of Eastern Carver
County.
We do everything in the name of Christ, but we serve all people regardless of their religion or beliefs.
