Announcement: ME 556 Projects

In order to choose your project topic, you can check the scope of the reputable journal, Smart
Materials and Structures, of Institute of Physics (IOP). The link to scope page is given below:

In your project you are expected to provide a detailed literature survey about a specific
topic/problem. You should provide details of the materials/methods, application(s), and modeling.

A good starting point to the project is search for papers in the Smart Materials and Structures
journal. Yeditepe University has online access to this journal.

You should prepare a project report -in paper format, I’ll provide you the template file- and a
project presentation. The presentations will be made at the end of the term.

Do not choose a broad topic, otherwise you won’t be able to focus on the details of the topic.

Once you chose the project, write a one page proposal and find at least three papers related to
the project. Then consult the course instructor with the proposal and papers for his approval.

Please choose your topic as soon as possible, in order to start studying on your project on time.

The project timetable will be discussed and finalized at class, on 7 May, 2015.
