GRAND KNIGHT’S
MESSAGE
In the name of the one unto whom all
others bow in humble adoration, Jesus
Christ, our Lord: Most gracious greetings
to our fellow, Brother Knights,
As followers of Jesus Christ, we have
journeyed through the sorrow and hurt of
Lent; we have further taken up our cross,
carried it through the streets, amidst the
jeering shouts of the mob, who once
used greetings of "Hosanna; blessed is
the One who comes in the name of the
Lord!", as both welcome and acclamation. We continued to carry that heavy
cross, as we felt the heaviness of its burden upon our shoulders, onward to the
place of "The Skull", known as Golgotha,
and alongside of Jesus, we experienced
the sacrifice on our behalf through the
pain and agony of crucifixion, the cold,
damp darkness of a tomb, hollowed out
of a stone cave, and the new life and joy
of resurrection that Jesus assured us of,
just as he had promised. Finally, we witnessed together the appearances of the
risen Lord, the peace and calm he brings
to our lives, even in the midst of the worries and the anguish of our earthly existence.
We are like a wind-blown and battered
fence post, out in someone's 40 acres of
nothingness, riddled with deep knotholes,
split apart by the abuse and damage of
the weather, all of this as the one, solitary
placement of a rusty, spiked, and jagged
piece of barbed wire, which has been
hammered into that post, by a rusty, bent,
crooked, nail. "OUCH, THE PAIN!", fragments of ripped and tattered clothing,
caught on that nail, blowing in the wind,
and the dust in the air.
"AH. THE BLESSED RELIEF!"...;
hammer, claws and pulls that rusty, bent
nail, out of the wooden post, as the fragments of torn clothing, blow away with
the wind; the rusting, jagged piece of
barbed wire, falls to the dir t of the
ground, and is seen no more, buried
among the stones, underbrush, and
prairie grasses. AND MAY IS SOON
UPON US....
Kudos and much thanks to Gar y
Pavek and many faithful, loyal, supporters and volunteers for making our TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE this past April, a great
success! (more info. later on...)

Let us remember those who gave of
themselves in defense of our nation's
freedom, as their ultimate sacrifice in this
earthly life, and also those who returned
from military service; we give them our
blessings and our gratitude for their service and their dedication. God bless them
all.

Many thanks to our Brother Knights,

CHAPLAIN’S MESSAGE
We are about to get into the planting
season! Fields, gardens and flower beds
will soon be full of activity. Our hands will
soon be dirty and the anticipation of produce will begin as we start this beautiful
season in Minnesota. Should we not also
plant the seeds of Evangelization?
Prepare the soil by meeting the human
needs of those you wish to evangelize. It
is hard to pray and pay attention to God
on an empty stomach. Food is just one
need, but I’m sure if you look at most
people there are some physical or emotional needs that you could meet for them
or the needs of someone they are extremely close to. Acts of kindness go a
long way. Share a meal with them or just
a neighborly visit can help you assess a
need and then fill it to the best of your
ability.
Sow the seed by being a good example in your own faith life. If we want them
to pray, then we better be doing it. If we
want them to attend mass then we better
be there. If we think someone in their
family would make a good priest, religious or deacon, then we should plant
the seed by mixing in a compliment of
some kind.

Met on Friday to set up for Convention,
and was at the PAC at 7 am Sat. to start
the day. We had wonderful attendance
from the 4th Degree Honor Guard and
wonderful waiters. Thank you Gentlemen! Our theme was “God’s Love is in
Our Hands” and by the turnout of all the
wonderful ladies, it is very true! Thank
you Ladies! The Czech Singers blessed
us with their talents at mass and also
while we ate. You were great! We had
Mary Beth from Cedar Brook Garden
Center do a demonstration of a plant
basket and a Fairy Garden. She was
generous and gave out 5 or 6 plants to
our guests. I believe some of us learned
something!
Because of all the support and hard
work from our Ladies, the Convention
went smooth and was enjoyed by all.
Thank you again for all you do!
Bingo is done until fall. Thank you everyone for working.
Our next meeting is on May 18, 2015
starting at 7 pm with a pot luck. Guests
and Spouses invited.
Respectfully Submitted

Nurture the seed by continuing the relationship and perhaps even sharing your
faith story. If it seems natural invite them
to church with you and plan a meal with
them associated with the outing. Invite
them to other activities like festivals,
fundraisers, church cleaning, work projects or picnics. See if they might want to
join the KC or KC Auxiliary. Make this relationship strong and lifelong having it
based in our relationship with Jesus.

dumpling supper honoring the new members. It is on May 21 at the KC Hall. The
social hour begins at 6 PM and the dinner will be served at 7 PM. The ladies
are invited. Let's have a large turnout to
welcome the new members in our assembly.
Memorial Day is on May 25th. Our
Honor Guard will be participating in the
Parade in New Prague. The members will
assemble in the parking lot south of the
NP City hall on Central Ave. at 10:30 AM.
Sir Knight Greg Jindra informed me
that his brother Gordon Jindra was not
frying the fish at the March fish fry as I
stated in the March See See. I am glad
that Greg filled in because he does a
wonderful job.
On a tragic note our oldest Sir Knight
Thomas Schoenbauer passed away on
Apr 16, 2015. He was a very active KC
member who served in the 4th degree
honor guard and was a former Grand
Knight. He worked in many fund raisers
including Bingo for many years. He was a
father figure and a good companion to
many of us. May he rest in peace.
Fraternally yours,
Ben Bartusek
