Competitors will be fined in respect of inoculations that have expired and may be refused entry to the show. Please ensure that your passports are fully up to date and are available at the show. 6. STABLE ALLOCATION 6.1 The allocation of stabling accommodation is carried out by the organising committee and the Society’s Committee and is final and binding on the competitor. Under no circumstances may any competitor change his stabling accommodation or alter the stabling list without prior consultation with, and approval by, the Organising Committee and the Society. 6.2 Vehicle (and Horse Box) Access 6.2.1 ALL horses/ponies requesting stabling will be stabled within the show grounds. 6.2.2 Free parking for light vehicles displaying an appropriate access permit is available in the Gate 3A car park. Please note, no horse boxes will be permitted entry into this area. 6.2.3 All horse boxes, heavier vehicles and transport rigs must be parked in a designated area within Townhill Hospital grounds. This area, located some 200 metres from the show grounds, will enjoy 24-hour security. 6.2.4 For off-loading and loading purposes, entry to the show grounds will be via Gate 5, with the exit being via Gate 4. 6.2.5 Due to limited space within the stabling area only a certain number of equine transporters will be allowed into the show grounds at any time and each vehicle will be given 25 minutes to off-load / load and vacate the grounds (to park in the Townhill Hospital parking area). This exercise is to be effected via an ‘aircraft stacking system’ as follows: Prior to entering the show grounds, all equine transport / service vehicles will be required to enter the Townhill Hospital grounds, park and be issued with a number. To avoid congestion, the vehicles will thereafter be authorized in number sequence or at the discretion of the marshal on duty at Townhill (who will be in constant radio communication with Gate 5) to enter the show grounds proper. 6.2.6 In the interests of all stakeholders, equine horse transporter drivers and ancillary vehicles must adhere strictly to the gate marshal and stabling marshal’s requests at all times. 6.2.7 Save for loading and unloading (and subject to the 25 minute restriction), no vehicles will be permitted to park in the grounds of the RAS. Any vehicle contravening this regulation will be removed at the cost and risk of the driver/owner and the rider may – at the Society’s sole discretion – be disqualified from competing. 6.2.8 Competitors must ensure that the appropriate vehicle entry permit is displayed at all times. 6.3 GROOMS’ ACCOMMODATION Accommodation will be made available for grooms to sleep and for the storage of food and tack. These facilities may be shared with other grooms. 6.4 STABLE BEDDING Initial bedding is provided. Additional bedding can be purchased from the show office. Ablutions are located close by. 7. EXERCISING OF HORSES Under no circumstances may horses be exercised in the Main Arena at any time throughout the period of the Show. 8. The organising committee, in conjunction with the Society’s Committee reserves the right to cancel Classes and/or re-arrange the programme in the event of insufficient or excessive entries, unfavourable weather conditions or other unforeseen circumstances. No Prize money for unaffiliated classes but Rosettes and sponsored prizes. CODE OF CONDUCT The South African Equestrian Federation (SAEF) and The Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) expects all those involved in International Equestrian Sport to adhere to the Code of Conduct and to acknowledge and accept that at all times the welfare of the horse must be paramount and must never be subordinated to competitive or commercial influences. 1. At all stages during the preparation and training of competition horses, welfare must take precedence over all other demands. This includes good horse management, training methods, farriery and tack, and transportation. 2. Horses and competitors must be fit, competent and in good health before they are allowed to compete. This encompasses medication use, surgical procedures that threaten welfare or safety, pregnancy in mares and the misuse of aids. 3. Events must not prejudice horse welfare. This involves paying careful attention to the competition areas, ground surfaces, weather conditions, stabling, site safety and fitness of the horse for onward travel after the event. 4. Every effort must be made to ensure that horses receive proper attention after they have competed and that they are treated humanely when their competition careers are over. This covers proper Veterinary care, competition injuries, euthanasia and retirement. 5.
