Great Plains Manufacturing, Incorporated Position: Human Resource Manager Location: Salina, Kansas Great Plains Manufacturing, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of agricultural planting, seeding, tillage and fertilizer application systems as well as an industry leading manufacturer of tractor and skid steer mounted implements for the landscaping and construction industry. Human Resources Manager The human resource director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resources function. This position reports to the President of the Company and is a key member of the senior management team. The HR manager will need to be capable of both supervising the operations of the department as well as being involved in the daily flow of paperwork. It is important that our HR Manager be visible and have personal contact with all levels of employees. Responsibilities: Provide HR support for all business objectives. Foster a workplace environment consistent with the values and mission outlined by the leadership of company Supervise the staff of the Human Resources Department, which includes payroll processing, benefits, administration, safety, employee wellness and environmental compliance. Providing counsel and advice to management on employee relations, performance management, training and development opportunities, staffing and retention, policy and procedure administration, and compensation. Implement the Company’s HR policies, procedures and programs (drug and alcohol policies, wellness programs, service awards, etc.). Coordinate training and development programs. Recommend new Human Resource approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continuous process improvement. Provide information and advice to managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure compliance with employment laws regarding sexual harassment, discrimination, equal opportunity, or disability. Recruit and source a wide variety of supervisory and hourly positions. Coordinate personnel record keeping related to new hires, employee reviews, promotions, transfers, separations and exit interviews. Serve as internal consultant to managers and advisor/mediator in employee situations in which discipline is joint responsibility of the Human Resources Manager and employee's supervisor. Coordinate with outside legal counsel on HR issues as needed. Assist management with implementation of safety policies and procedures and in all phases of safety awareness education and training programs. Oversee environmental safety in our manufacturing facilities, ensuring that appropriate records are kept, reporting is done, training is provided and be a pro-active leader to ensure that all environmental requirements are met. Oversee all employee benefit programs Be a champion for Employee Wellness Coordinate employee communications to keep employees informed regarding changes in the Company’s benefits and personnel policies, including active participation in the HR newsletter. Prepare and submit various reports to management Requirements: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years Human Resources experience required. PHR/SPHR a plus. Knowledge of current employment laws at State and Federal levels (i.e., ERISA, HIPAA, FLSA regulations, ADA) as well as regulatory record keeping requirements. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff and work well within a team environment. Self-motivated with the ability to quickly learn new procedures and processes. Ability to be flexible, work with interruptions and shift priorities as required. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proven time management and organizational skills. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion at all times.
