once a major producer of cantaloupe, today more than 50,000 irrigated acres are
used to produce feed crops. Fallon is an oasis in the desert and offers the outdoors,
birding, the arts, a wealth of history, shops, and events scheduled year round,
including the Hearts of Gold Cantaloupe Festival.
