USS CONYNGHAM DDG-17 History Collection Complied by: Dave Suckow, Association Historical Officer and assisted by: Eileen Olson Display racking The following pages are pictures of what we have in our history collection. In the photo above you can see how we set up the main display The 3 leaf binders contain, the Ship Command Book and other paper, and pictures. from commishing up to decommishing that has been donated to the Association. We have a set of prints from the shipyard, we have manuels, Commishing booklets, decommishing booklet, some Change of Command booklets, menu's from holiday meals, Newspaper articles of stories about the ship, A sote awy, assist in the rescue of the USS SHARK, fire about our ship, many picture of the ship at different locations. We have 8 cruise books and a Yard Book, some copied and put in 3 ring binders. We have the Quater Deck ship's name, we have our 1964 Battle "E" plaque Some of the items need to be seen to appreciate it being in the history. Page here we have 3 jackets from different cruises and t-shirts and jackets from some of the baseball teams the ship had. A cap that was sent to a shipmates dad back in the 80's, put up and never worn Page Bottom Wall Banner, (which will stay with association at this time) as will the DD 371 banner. Carved on the back the numbers 58 and 371 for the other 2 ship's named for CONYNGHAM Page Page Page A cigartte box, given to the Chief Engineer when he left the ship by the Wardroom Officers, TO LT.
