Jesus’ post-Resurrection words and appearances should be a source of consolation and inspiration for us now and always. After Mary Magdela discovered the empty tomb, Jesus appeared to her and said “Woman, why are you weeping?...I am going to my Father and your Father….to my God and your God” (John 20:1517). Later that day Jesus appeared to his disciples who were hiding behind locked doors for fear of persecution and said to them, “Peace be with you, as the Father has sent me, so I send you...receive the Holy Spirit.” Death and separation from our loved ones are two of life’s most difficult experiences. The joy of Easter unites us with God’s mercy to console us and with God’s love, revealed to us through Jesus Christ and His plan of Salvation which seeks to unite us with him and one another eternally in heaven. In the power of this Truth I wish you all a joy-filled and holy Easter! I congratulate and welcome those who have come into the Church during Lent and at our Easter Vigil. I extend an invitation for those who have been away for various reasons to come back home; Divine Mercy Sunday (April 3rd), celebrates Jesus’ invitation for all to return to him by way of his Divine Mercy. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, along with the praying of the Divine Mercy Chaplet will take place in the church from 3PM to 4:30PM on this day. What a wonderful way to celebrate this beautiful feast day designated by St. John Paul II and now experienced during this Jubilee Year of Mercy. Please come and make use of the Holy Doors which enable us to attain the plenary indulgence granted to those who are prepared to receive it. May the Peace of the Risen Lord be with you. Fr.
