† investment for the infrastructure is cheaper than for a tram
system but much higher than for a diesel bus system
„ A trolleybus system is 10 times faster to install
„ A trolleybus system is 80% cheaper to build
„ Trolleybuses have only 50% of the operational costs of
a tram system
„ Trolleybus power infrastructure has a life of 50 - 60 years
and is lighter than for trams
† Advantage for Salzburg: city region have subsidized most
of the initial investment of the recently new built
infrastructure in recognition of the benefits of the trolleybus
for the city
