Shelter House Rentals
Pickerington residents and non-residents may reserve shelters. Even though you may have
a Pickerington mailing address, or live within the Pickerington Local School District, you
may not necessarily live within the Pickerington City limits. Shelter houses are available for
rent April 1 - October 31. Additional information available at www.pickerington.net.

Hilltop Shelter - Sycamore Park, upper level by tennis courts, seats 48, has one grill,
portable restrooms and electric.
Moorhead Shelter - Sycamore Park, upper level by pond, seats 48, has one grill, restrooms

Pickering Shelter - Sycamore Park, lower level, seats 72, has one grill, restrooms and electric.

Pickerington Police Department at 614-575-6911 if you observe any of the above.
Pets in the Park
The only pets allowed in the parks are domestic dogs and cats which must be controlled
at all times and secured to a leash no longer than six feet. Pet owners must clean up after
their animal(s) and must carry a device for this purpose.
FALL 2013
City of Pickerington’s Disc Golf Course is located at 625 E. Columbus Street (SR 256), under
the water tower. There is no charge to play the 18-hole par 65 facility and it is open for play
year-round. Scorecards and pencils are available in the mailbox located west of
the parking lot. Players must bring their own discs.
Emergency Contact Information
All registrants in Parks and Recreation activities must provide an emergency contact
person, phone number and relationship on the registration form.

Hummingbirds Soccer
Children ages 3-6 have fun and learn the basics of
soccer: dribbling, passing, trapping, shooting, defense,
and positioning. Each session consists of instruction
in each aspect of the game, participation in fun drills
that are designed to teach fundamental skills to such
young children, and low-key, non-competitive games. All
coaching will be conducted by Jump Start Sports staff, but
parents may assist (shin guards are required).

Directed by Grandmaster Stephens of Free Spirit Karate
Club, Tae Kwon Do skills help build strength, agility and
coordination. The mental aspect builds self-confidence,
self-control and mental discipline.
Using our unique LEGO® kits, students will
creatively build and modify machines applying
basic engineering principles.
This is an
integrated science and math class. Students will learn a
variety of concepts and apply their acquired knowledge
about gearing and gear ratios, simple machines, problem
solving, and communication skills, throughout this class.
This challenges students to incorporate the traits of an
Engineer in a classroom setting. Includes a Culmination
Event at the end of class.

Zumba is a Latin dance-inspired fitness program. It
incorporates samba, mambo, meringue, hip-hop,

REFUND BEFORE THE ACTIVITY BEGINS
Refunds will be made only before the start of the activity for one of the following
circumstances and a $10 processing fee will apply:
• When the refund is requested at least seven (7) days in advance (except where
otherwise noted) of the first activity meeting provided it does not reduce the
participation level below the required minimum.
• When a Refund Request is completed and approved by the Parks and Recreation
Department.
• No refund will be given for activities under $10.
• No refund will be given for materials purchased.
CANCELLATION OF ACTIVITIES
The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel activities due
to low enrollment. Decisions to offer activities are based upon pre-registration
numbers and made 48-72 hours in advance of the start date. Register early to help
avoid a cancelled or closed out activity. If class is cancelled or closed, you will receive
a full refund in the form of a check; no cash refunds. Refunds take about 3 weeks.
