came along for a needed breather, Larry, tasked with bringing up the rear, herding the pack down the narrow selected back roads toward our lunch destination. Our path of spirited driving was plotted not for
efficient routing but for playful day tripping, the road course garnered unanimous applause later in the
day from the participants.
The group found the upper falls as always a spectacular photo opportunity. All cameras working overtime
capturing the falls, summer light and fellow travelers. With the 2 mile gravel road dealt with handily Our
group made a quick descent into the lower park where picnic lunch was leisurely consumed. The park is

Hi everyone,
Fall is upon us with all the colors, cooler evenings, and a hint of the
winter which is fast approaching. We concluded our final high
performance driving school of the year the first weekend of October. It was well attended with lots of positive comments for the
instructors and volunteers who manned the turn stations. My sincere thanks to our driving events chairman and chief instructor,
Scott Adare, for his continued leadership in making our driving
schools so successful. We are looking forward to next year at Spokane
County Motorsports Park as the
changes and updates continue to
improve the facility. I also want to
thank each of the board members
for their contributions of time, energy, and support of the driving schools. My hat is off to our dedicated group of volunteers that have helped keep the students and
instructors safe during the school weekend. They are out there in
all kinds of weather waving flags and communicating information
for the good of those on track. Scott has a great group of instructors
who contribute their time and knowledge so that the school is a
successful learning experience for the students. Good job, well
done everyone!!
We will be nominating and electing board members this year for

the coming two year term. This is your opportunity to be a more
active in your club. If you are interested in being a board member, please contact any current board member for more information. The nomination and voting process is outlined in this newsletter. Our next event for the membership will be our annual
banquet scheduled for January 31, 2009. Nancy Adare is coordinating the banquet and I want to thank her for gathering the
information and making the arrangements. Nancy also is busy
on our driving school weekends catering the lunches on Saturday and Sunday. She makes the arrangements for the Saturday
night banquet too. She is a gem and we all appreciate her contributions!
I have enjoyed these past four years as president of your club. I
couldn't ask for a better group of board members to work with. I
could always count on getting good counsel and guidance from
my fellow board members. They are a diverse group, each with
their own unique personality. It has been a pleasure serving with
all of them. I am stepping down as president but hope to continue on the board in some other capacity. That's it for now. I
encourage each of you to share a random act of kindness. You
will be surprised how good it makes you feel.
Keep safe and Happy Holidays!

Show and Shine Pizza Party
A handful of the faithful braved
dubious skies to congregate at
Comstock Park on Wednesday
August 20th to share pizza and stories of events past.
A wide variety of auto specimens
were convened by these tenacious
drivers and found friendly conversation in four categories. Taking
home BMW caps in areas of…
cleanest, oldest, newest and the
furthest driven to the event. Pizza
and drinks were shared and many
laughs were had.
IEBMW thanks all those for braving the abnormal weather conditions and hopes next year’s will be
even better.

the town of Dayton. In Dayton a main street treasure hunt ensued. We explored shops looking for the booty, --ice cream.
Dayton works hard to be picturesque and it’s home town
charm were appreciated by all, cameras in hand, a group photo
posed on the county court house steps was taken. Our side trip
for ice cream complete, we made a snappy clip on over well
paved roads to the Snake River and on to Colfax where the
group divided paths, Due to the hour, East goers heading to
Palouse then north on the Idaho side. A few opting for the
quick trip north on 195, and four of us taking in one last wonder plus side roads to enjoy the Steptoe Butte viewpoint.
An excellent sun filled romp was had by all that day.
To our members that have not participated in a group drive, we
encourage you to do so, Its all for the fun of driving. We appreciate our cars and the enjoyment they provide.

We want to continue our section where we feature one of our members and their BMW. We have a questionnaire to fill out asking numerous questions about your car. We will need a complete bio on the car, pictures, where you got it , how long you’ve had
it, why is it special to you, favorite place to drive it, where you would like to drive it, things of that nature.
It will be fun and interesting to learn about some of the cars that are right here under our noses. I know there are some unique
specimens near by.
So, if you would like to share your BMW with us,
contact Larry Simmons at (208) 265-7888 or email
