BCC Fortnightly Newsletter 2015 - Issue 18
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas. Have a fantastic break. Issue 18 10 December 2015 1 Grade 6s Graduate From the Principal We are at the end of the 2015 school year. Firstly, I would like to thank all parents and grandparents for their support of Bayside Christian College this year. BCC was started by Christian parents whose earnest desire was for their children to have an education consistent with their Christian faith. Without the partnership between home and school we would not be able to function the way we do! I would also like to thank the student body. Walking around the playground and visiting classes is a very pleasant experience. The warmth and enthusiasm of students is testament to the student culture. Well done! This year we made a preliminary start to our building project on the land directly across the road from the College. We have a planning permit and once the final touches on a few issues are complete, the building of the Trade Skills Centre and new Secondary classroom block can progress. Earlier this week the 2015 Year Books were delivered to the College. In them you will find many stories and highlights of the school year. However, as mentioned previously, we need to ensure that our focus is on enjoying and seeing the blessings in the everyday aspects of life. There are so many wonderful things that happen every day and we can miss them if we concentrate too much on the extra-curricular aspects, such as camps and excursions. I would also like to thank the staff of Bayside Christian College for their passion for Christian schooling. We have a very committed team who are great to work with. We will certainly miss Mrs. Hooper, Mr. Woodbridge, Ms. Rietveld, and Miss. See as they leave us this year. May the Lord bless each of them as they pursue a new direction in 2016. I would like to wish you a wonderful Christmas break. I hope that you are able to share some precious moments with family and reflect on the message of Jesus. Shalom Christopher Prior Principal Sebastian Ruic Earlier in the month a number of Bayside Christian College staff and families joined with family and friends of the Ruics to farewell Grade 4 student Sebastian, who passed away in late November after a long illness. It was a beautiful service that celebrated and gave thanks for his life. As a community we continue to pray that the peace of Christ would be with the Ruic family. 2 Primary Sport news Grades 5/6 – Our girls and boys Cricket 8 teams recently played in the regional finals.
