Everyday during sixth period the class gets together to practice their play. Whether it’s acting, dancing, singing or working backstage, everybody has an important role to fill. Mr. Mutch is the teacher of the class and the director of the play. The play follows the story of Sophie (played by Shannon Klumpenhouwer), a young bride-to-be who invites her 3 possible fathers (played by Noah Corner, Robbie Hamilton and Phillip McAllister) to her upcoming wedding and Sophie’s mother Donna (played by Laura Matchett) has to deal with these 3 men back in her life. Evan Curtis and Dylan Hare are building the set, Taylor Jardine is designing the set, Kachina Peter -Paul is in charge of the sound system and the lighting is being looked after by myself. We are lucky to have some new, state of the art sound equipment and a new light system is currently being installed. There are many other people in the class and there simply isn’t enough room to mention everybody. Contest of The Week This week we’re looking for the owner of this shoe. For more info go to http://nbdramafest.com/ main.html Student Car of The Week by: Cody Stweart Justin Hyland is a grade 12 student and the proud owner of his 1989 Chevrolet Caprice Classic. This boat is equipped with a 454 Big Block V8 and 4-on-the-floor transmission. The 3.73 posi rear end light up both tires every time, no matter what. The exhaust system consists of “true dual Purple Hornies on backwards (aka straight pipes)”. It has excellent gas mileage and it only takes about $20 to drive to McDonalds and back (that’s worse than my truck). He bought his car 2 years ago; he had it before he had his drivers permit. Justin says that you are allowed to smoke in his Caprice and that it has power everything. It currently has 199,000 KMs on it and he’s having a party as soon as it hits 200,000. He says that’s it’s a great car because it’s loud and everybody hates it, but he claims that he looks good in it. The Caprice is always seen full of Justin’s buddies. The back seats of this Chevy have seen more blood than the streets of Compton and one time the rap star BNE went for a drive in it. Out of the 4 door handles the car came with, only 2 still work, but that’s ok. Justin also asked me to mention that Tommy is always welcome in his car but Cory isn’t. (PICTURE ON BACK) Issue 3 Page 3
