Organised by FORO QUÍMICA Y SOCIEDAD, Spain’s platform for the
defence and communication of Chemistry as a beneficial science to society
at large within the context of 6th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress.
A debate among major Chemistry figures of different fields and disciplines
who will shed light on how Chemistry will solve the major social and
environmental challenges that population growth pose for humanity, the
role of social perception in scientific advance and the ethical aspirations of
research and science.

JEAN-MARIE PIERRE LEHN
The Royal Academy of Science of Sweden awarded her
the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1987 for his
development and use of molecules with structurespecific interactions of high selectivity. A Chemical
graduated from the Strasbourg University, Lehn has
taught at various universities in United Kingdom, Spain,
United States, Switzerland and China.
ANTÓN VALERO
President of the Federation of the Spanish chemical
industry (Feique) and CEO of Dow Chemical Iberica. A
graduated in Chemical Science from the University of
Barcelona, Valero has developed his professional career
in one of the world's most important chemical
companies.
EHUD KEINAN
President of the Israel Chemical Society, Keinan is Chief
Editor of the Israel Journal of Chemistry and President
of the International Forum of Bio Inspired Engineering
(IFBIE, Boston, USA). He founded two startup
companies based on his technologies.
ROBERT PARKER
CEO of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the largest
European chemical society. During his time as CEO he
has led a significant programme of change at the Royal
Society of Chemistry, with a focus on striving for the
next level of achievement through empowered staff and
members.
HARTMUT FRANK
Professor of Environmental Chemistry and
Ecotoxicology at the University of Bayreuth. Frank is
member of the American Chemical Society, the German
Chemical Society, and the German Pharmacological and
Toxicological Society
