TRI-STATE ALLIANCE NEWS

Dec. 2011
Tri-State AIDS Holiday
Project Needs Our Support
The Tri-State AIDS Holiday Project is busy once again
meeting the needs of a record-breaking amount of low-income
families impacted by HIV / AIDS throughout the Tri-State. This
year we are serving over 375 low-income households in a 36county region in Illinois, Indiana and Kentucky.
The number has expanded this year because TSA is working directly with infectious disease medical providers, Matthew
25, the Patoka Valley HIV / AIDS Community Action Group
and Southern IL HIV Care Connect. By expanding the number
of families served to include patients of infectious disease
doctors, we are serving low-income households on disability
and now low-income households with high co-pays and deductibles that impact their bottom line. Throughout this
month’s newsletter you will see quite a few different ways you
can help our project. We need volunteers to sponsor households, speak to the media, make deliveries, help with events,
and help wrap gifts at the Evansville Barnes & Noble. We
need donations mailed to us at TSA Holiday Project, PO Box
2901, Evansville, IN 47728 or made on-line at
www.aidsholidayproject.org. Only with your continued support
can we continue to meet the needs of so many throughout the
Tri-State with your support.

Remember TSA in Your Will
TSA Educational Presentations
By Wally Paynter
Making a difference in our community is important. TSA has
worked to serve our community since 1980. To make a difference in our community, donations of time and money have always been very important.
One way to continue to make a difference is by remembering
TSA in your estate planning. I choose to volunteer for the 3
charities that are the most important to me and my life (TSA,
MDA and 1st Presbyterian Church).
As I prepared my will, I have included TSA, MDA and my
church in my estate planning. Though this will not be a lot of
money, it will be my way to help make a difference in the future
after I am gone.
I would like to encourage you to consider the Tri-State Alliance as your prepare your estate. Our legal name is the TriState Alliance, Inc., our address is PO Box 2901, Evansville, IN
47728, and our Federal ID number is 35-1636272. Whether
you remember us in your will, life estate or in your life insurance, you can help us continue to make a difference. TSA has
served our region for 29 years, and your consideration will help
us continue to make a difference into the future! Contact me at
812-480-0204 or wallypaynter@aol.com for more information.
Gay & Lesbian Images in American Film. Lecture includes an overview of historical Hollywood and the fate of all minorities in American
movies from silent era to 1970s. Portions of the HBO Documentary

1967 American films depicting GLBT images.
The Hidden Holocaust: Lecture gives brief overview of the historical
evolution of the GLBT population in Europe during the latter 19th and
early 20th century, culminating in the Gay Renaissance of Berlin in the
1920’s. The documentary “Paragraph 175” is shown, presenting the
few survivors of the Nazi death camps and their personal stories.
4000 Years of GLBT History: A power point presentation showing
images from around the world of GLBT people and events from a little
known Egyptian tomb from 2400 BC, to the current status of the campaign for marriage equality in the US and Europe.
For more info contact TSA VP Kelley Coures at kcoures@aol.com
Working with Diverse Populations: we meet with substance abuse
treatment facilities, churches, schools, social service and medical
agencies, and university classes to talk about working with GLBT communities in a culturally competent fashion.

Tri-State AIDS Holiday Project
PO Box 2901, Evansville, IN 47728
December 2011
Dear friends,
We are writing to ask for your help with the Tri-State AIDS Holiday Project. We need your
support in order to meet the needs of more than 375 low-income families impacted by HIV /
AIDS in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois.
The number of families has increased this year because we are working with medical providers
who care for patients with HIV/AIDS. As a result, we are serving working families struggling to
pay their medical expenses, as well as families on disability throughout the Tri-State. Helping
the working poor impacted by HIV / AIDS is an important and logical expansion of our project.
To succeed, we need YOUR help. Enclosed is a detailed list of ways you can support the
Tri-State AIDS Holiday Project. Here are some of the ways you can help:
 Send a donation to the TSA Holiday Project, PO Box 2901, Evansville, IN 47728 to help
pay for grocery store gift cards and to help needy families who may contact us later in the
holiday season.
 Sponsor a family.
 Wrap gifts for tips at the Evansville Barnes & Noble.
 Help us deliver gifts throughout the Tri-State.
 Help with our outreach campaign. Post our web site, www.aidsholidayproject.org, on-line
via Facebook and other social media. Or help us show a five-minute informational DVD to
different groups in the Tri-State.
Please contact Wally at 812-480-0204 or wallypaynter@aol.com to offer your help. Your
support will help us make a REAL difference!
Sincerely,
Kelley Coures
