Art of Faith Ministry is sponsoring the Original Image of Divine Mercy film in the Holy Year of Mercy. This is the only image St. Faustine ever saw in her lifetime. Please RSVP to the school Office (944-3230) if you plan to attend. 41st Annual Saint Malachy Parents Club Lasagna Supper SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16 4-7 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend the annual Lasagna Supper sponsored by the Parents Club. The meal consists of lasagna, salad, French bread, drinks and dessert. Barbeque Sandwiches with chips is also available. We recognize the Sesquicentennial of St. Malachy Catholic Church with a Celebration Mass on this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. A Sunday dinner buffet is available 12:00-2:00 p.m. Playground Games for our children will also be from 12:00—2:00 p.m. At 2:00 p.m. a Bagpipe and Drum Band will lead people from the playground into the church for the beginning of an hour musical program. Special displays highlighting our history can be seen in the Narthex throughout the weekend. Our 2016 directory will include more activity pages than usual with history, church information and pictures, and the most important section of pictures of our parish families. We are striving to make this a “keepsake” directory that you will enjoy for years to come. We have scheduled Lifetouch Directories for one last photo session on Sunday, October 23rd. We have parishioners who have made appointments for this session, but we need more. Please advise your friends and family about our October 23rd photo opportunity and encourage them $7 for Adult tickets to make an appointment if they have not already $5 for Children’s tickets or Barbeque Sandwiches done so. The Paraclete Fund helps us very much to support some families who want the education of the Catholic School but who, for a variety of reasons, at this time in their lives, ind it hard to pay full tuition. This count helps both Bishop Jenky and our United States Conference of Bishops to know generally how many individuals are participating in our Sunday liturgies in our diocese and in our country. So, don’t be shocked if you notice that you are being counted. OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH, And this means that we are again making baby bottles available to help our parishioners contribute their “Pennies for Life.” While this yearly collection asks one penny for each year of life for all members of a family, contributions of other coins or even of dollar bills are, of course, most welcome and gratefully received. MINISTRY OPENING LITURGY COORDINATOR St. Malachy Parish is seeking an individual who will coordinate all aspects of liturgy in our parish by providing leadership for our Liturgy Committee. Interested individuals should have a firm Catholic faith and a working knowledge of Catholic liturgy, which can always be further developed. It is desirable that this Liturgy Coordinator be a self-starter, willing to try new things, and able to speak clearly about his/her work. Expectation is that this ministry will average around 10 hours per week, although some weeks will be much busier than others. Job description is available upon request.
