When Information Matters Volume: Seven · Issue Six July, 2014 Congratulations to McDonough’s Own 8U Gamers 2014 Roberto Clemente World Series Champions McDonough's own 8U Gamers, under Head Coach Chris Garner (Back Left), has won the 2014 AABC Roberto Clemente World Series by defeating the Blue Jays from Puerto Rico in the Championship game on Saturday evening (7-26-14). The final score was11 - 5 in an exciting, hard-fought contest. The RCWS has been played at Richard Craig Park in McDonough M cDonough 14 consecutive years. for Matters Had the Gamers lost, there would have had to be a second game between these same two teams played on Sunday at 1:00pm. This award is presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for an outstanding budget meeting all the standards of GFOA. Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard to create an outstanding and award-winning budget. This is the first time the City has ever been honored with this esteemed award which carries with it significant status and affords multiple benefits to this City. She took the me to get Mrs. McDonough brochures, promo onal items, and even a McDonough commemora ve plate that had been le over from a past promo on. Mrs. McDonough and her family ended up spending several hours in McDonough, when they had only planned to spend a few minutes, and ate at a local restaurant and shopped in two stores.
