Are You Making the Most of Your
Telephone in This Difficult Economy?
The Knology team congratulates Steve Markiewicz (2nd

Sue Osborne of TVC Communications & Marketing shows
great form at the Chamber Cup Golf Tournament.
All too often I work with companies, especially small
businesses, who spend a good deal of time, energy and
money to get a new client. A business client can cost
more than $500 in today’s market. What is often overlooked are two different and more economical ways to
both get and keep business.
1) Keep in regular telephone contact (but do it
correctly and effectively to ensure results) with
customers and prospects to maximize both the business you could be getting and also to ensure that you
speak to everyone who affects the buying decision in
that organization. Why? You can mail them something
but we know the percentage of mail that gets gets thrown
away and you won’t get any feedback or information.
2) Start prospecting by phone. The right call
approach and technique can create leads and firm
appointments. Why? It costs too much in time, energy
and travel to cold call and visit potential customers or
clients. You can reach out to 50 people in a day by
telephone, talk to 10 and generate qualified leads!
When the economy takes a down turn, this is the time
to invest in your business and look into other options for
your business. Harnessing the telephone - including skill
building, coaching or strategic planning - is a great
investment.
