Professional and amateur athletes come to battle in
spectacular competitions in front of thousands of fans.
Just like in the very beginning, the FISE World Series still
offers spectacular events in popular locations around
the world. The festival-like vibe and action-sport filled
days are always an important part of the event, but
fans can also enjoy exhibition villages, various industry
demos and initiations. Throughout the tour, the riders
cumulate points at each stop, gaining important media
exposure and having the chance to win significant prize
money. Overall rankings are calculated at the end of the
tour, determining the year’s champion in each one of
the disciplines. In 2016, the FISE World Series hosts the
UCI BMX Freestyle Park World Cup for the first time
ever, raising the stakes for the BMX riders.

EDMONTON - CANADA
WHY DID WE CHOOSE
EDMONTON? WE HAVE OUR
REASONS. PERHAPS IT IS THE
LEGACY OF ENTREPRENEURS
WHO ARE NOT AFRAID TO
TAKE RISKS TO CREATE
SOMETHING INCREDIBLE.
Location: Edmonton,
Alberta, Canada
Things like North America’s biggest and
wildest Fringe Festival. Or a shopping
mall that boasts the world’s largest indoor
amusement park, lake, waterpark and
permanent zipline!
Or maybe it is because Edmonton is one
of Canada’s sunniest cities, with 325 days
of bright sunshine a year. Edmonton is big
city with small-town values and an arts
and culture hub, with festivals year round.
You will find some of the hottest craft beer
taprooms, hyper-local bistros and indie
bakeries in Edmonton. There is uniqueness
to how Edmontonians do ordinary things!
The FISE World Series is the biggest action
sports festival in the world. After the first
stop in Montpellier, France attracted over
half a million fans in May 2016, the festival
is visiting North America for the first
time. The FISE World Series will take over
Hawrelak Park in Edmonton for three days
of BMX, Mountain Bike and Skateboard
and will feature some of the best riders in
the world. This new collaboration with the
City of Edmonton and Edmonton Events is
an amazing opportunity for amateur and
pro riders to participate on the world stage,
as the FISE World Series officially hosts
the sensational UCI BMX Freestyle Park
World Cup – an event recognized by the
international governing body of cycling.

DISCIPLINES
OF THE STOP
The pinacle of action sports
BMX
FREESTYLE PARK
BMX
FLATLAND
The BMX Freestyle Park is an extreme cycling sport; it
is both physical and technical. Spectacular aerobatics
are practiced in a BMX park with big curves, boxes,
jumps, transfers and others ramps favorable to BMX
riding. BMX Freestyle Park professional competitions
are the most popular and spectacular disciplines in the
FISE World Series. You do not want to miss it! This
discipline gathers the best athletes from around the
world who come to make the crowd go wild. Daniel
Dhers, Mark Webb, Logan Martin, Daniel Sandoval…
these are some of the names you will have the chance
to see at this event.
This discipline developed a strong identity and is quite
different from other BMX styles. With this type of
BMX, the riding takes place on a flat surface, where
the riders perform balance tricks, often using only
one wheel or only the pegs. The artistic aspect is at
the center of this discipline and style is a decisive
argument in this type of contest. Flat BMX bikes are
lighter and shorter, making them more maneuverable.
For more fluidity, many flatlanders use only the front
brake and sometimes no brake at all.

SKATEBOARD
STREET PARK
MOUNTAIN BIKE
SLOPESTYLE
The DNA of Freestyle sports… This discipline comes
from California and is a child of Surf culture. At first it
was used only as a means to roll around, until it boomed
as a freestyle sport in the 80s. Today, it is the most
popular board sport, a true lifestyle. There are plenty of
sub-disciplines in Skateboarding: downhill, mega-ramp,
bowl ... But the skate park remains the most developed
part, especially regarding competitions. This year is
an important milestone in skateboarding history as it
officially became an Olympic sport, to be featured
at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. FISE is proud to
be the first World Series presenting skateboarding
competitions.
MTB Slopestyle is performed on a course built to
reproduce some of the features bikers could find on
a mountain. A really breathtaking sport to watch, with
its oversized features and with the type of high, fast
tricks the rider performs. The challenge of bringing an
outdoor sport to the heart of a city is one we are always
willing to take! FISE mountain bike slopestyle stops
are part of the FMB WORLD TOUR in Gold category.
The FMB World Tour is the official international circuit
of professional Freeride Mountain Bike competitions
in the disciplines Dirt Jump, Big Air, Slopestyle and
Big Mountain governed by the Freeride Mountain
Bike Association („FMBA"). The FMB World Tour is
sanctioning events in 4 different categories: Diamond,
Gold, Silver, Bronze.

FOR THE FIRST TIME
IN ITS HISTORY, BMX
FREESTYLE PARK BECOMES
A RECOGNIZED BICYCLE
DISCIPLINE, AS IT IS NOW
CERTIFIED BY THE UCI.
UCI BMX FREESTYLE PARK WORLD CUP
COLLABORATION BETWEEN HURRICANE
AND UCI
This new movement in the cycling world is the
result of a great collaboration between L’Union
Cycliste Internationale (UCI) and Hurricane
through the launch of the UCI BMX Freestyle
Park World Cup. The first edition of the UCI
BMX Freestyle Park World Cup 2016 will take
place during the international FISE World Series
competitions. It will be the springboard for
the UCI Urban Cycling World Championships,
planned for 2017. These championships will
include BMX Freestyle Park, Cross Country
Mountain Bike Eliminator (XCE) and Trials.
Both UCI and FISE are happy to team up to
share their knowledge and competencies
earned through past experiences, and work
hand in hand in developing the discipline that is
BMX Freestyle Park.

Victor an atypical character. He has been dedicated
to skateboarding since his teenage hood, and never
left this new way of life. If we have to define Victor's
style in one word, it would be: ORIGINALITY. When
he rides a skatepark, or a street spot, he is always the
guy who finds the most epic way to do a trick. He
got a really smooth style, and he cannot stop smiling
while riding its board.
Cam is the FISE Xperience 2015’ winner in BMX
Freestyle Park. He won last year the Wild Card and is
now invited during all the year on each stop of the FISE
