The library's Capital Campaign Committee held
it's inaugural meeting on Friday, August 19,
under the library's skylight. The library's director,
board president and campaign co-chairs were
on-hand to share their love of libraries, their
support for the Transformation, and their willingness
to help raise the $1.5-2 million needed to turn HPL
into a true 21st century facility.
"To be at the launch of a new era and an
exciting time for the library, it's very gratifying,"
said committee co-chair Jackie Wood.
The other co-chairs echoed her sentiments and
shared some of their reasons - both personal and
professional - for supporting the Transformation.
"From a socio-economic standpoint," said Phil
Whitehead, "the library provides a vital service
that helps close the gap between the haves and
the have-nots in our community."
presented by Anna DiPasquale,
Vintage Fair

"Philanthropy is part of our culture in Janesville,"
Lisa Nackerud Ryan reminded the crowd. "It's been
20 years since Hedberg has been actively seeking
donations from the community - and I'm excited
to be a part of it."
More than 25 community members and staff have
signed on to the Capital Campaign Committee.
Group training sessions have been scheduled to
equip the participants with the tools they'll need
to secure the necessary gifts.
