Energy Avenger Series Presentation for Seaports
E3 Overview Business Focus: E3 is proud to introduce the patented technology of the Energy Conservation Units (ECU). The Energy Avenger: The Energy Avenger™ is an Energy Conservation Unit (voltage reduction device) for virtually all HID Lighting applications. It can provide energy savings of 20% to 35% while maintaining IES lighting guidelines. How It Works: The Energy Avenger Lighting Control System is designed to control High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting units, and yield a power savings by altering the applied voltage to the lights once the HID units have been started and warmed up. How It Benefits You: The Energy Avenger will not only reduce your energy consumption by 20-35%, it will also substantially reduce your monthly electrical bill. ISI Energy owns the patent for the Energy Conservation Unit (ECU) – Energy Avenger™ E3 is committed to helping customers receive immediate energy savings. 2 WHAT IS THE ENERGY AVENGER It is a unique energy-saving device for commercial lighting systems that reduces electricity usage by 20-35 percent. Pedestal-mount, wall-mount and pole-mount products are available. Types of Systems High Intensity Discharge (HID); metal halide, high-pressure sodium, and mercury vapor lighting all respond very well to the Energy Avenger™ reduction process. Installation Installation of the Energy Avenger requires limited business interruption or need to change out your existing light fixtures. Warranties The Energy Avenger has a 5 year limited warranty. Manufacturers’ warranties on existing lamps and ballasts are not affected. 3 HOW DOES IT WORK The Energy Avenger will be custom manufactured for your lighting applications. The Energy Avenger™ is a patented Energy Conservation Unit (ECU) that has multiple electrical-mechanical relays to step down voltage through a control transformer while continually transmitting consistent power to the lighting system. The Energy Avenger™ through its control transformer has “hard taps” set to the percentage of kWh savings desired. The “hard taps” on the transformer regulate the incoming voltage supplied by the power company. The product is installed adjacent to a subpanel, main meter box, or main distribution box for multiple lighting locations. It is not installed on each light fixture, but rather controls large groups of lights on a dedicated lighting circuit. 4 Project Energy Avenger MBTA Cabot CNG Bus Maintenance Facility 5 Energy Avenger™ Technology 6 The Energy Avenger™ The Energy Avenger, as shown, consists of two boxes; the top box contains a set of transformer devices and the bottom box consists of a set of contacts and programmable logic controllers (PLC). No special bulbs or equipment is required. Decreases wattage feeding the lamp, it creates a Kelvin shift of light output. The color spectrum shifts from red orange toward blue-green (4050K to 4850K) and results in scotopically better, whiter light. This type of light is perceived as brighter by the human eye, and therefore reduces or eliminates the perceived light loss while achieving substantial energy savings 14 Why The Energy Avenger™ ? Reduces Energy Consumption by as much as 20% to 35% Reduces Billable Cost for Energy Works With All New and Existing HID Lamps and Ballasts Minimal Business Interruptions A Well Maintained Energy Avenger has an Expected Life of Twenty Plus Years. Easy Installation Increases Lamp and Ballast Life 15 The Benefits of Energy Avenger Saves Money on Electrical Bill Manage Demand Charges Reduces kWh Usage Reduces Indoor HVAC Costs by Lowering Lighting Heat load Longer Lamp and Ballast Life Defers Costs of: • Upgrades to Existing Ballasts & Lamps • Replacements Parts to Existing Fixtures • Lowers Labor & Maintenance Costs Unit qualifies for rebates, please speak with your local utility provider for more information. 16 A Green Energy Product Qualifies for LEED Innovation Points Qualifies for Carbon Credits Reduces Carbon Foot Print: CO2 SO2 NOx Lighting and Emissions EXAMPLE BASED ON 10 HOUR DAILY LIGHTING AVERAGE FOR ONE YEAR • HID Lighting: One Hundred 1,000 watt Metal Halides • Hourly kW Consumption: 100 kWh • Savings from Energy Conservation Unit: 25%, equals 25kWh reduction • Annual Energy Reduction: 91.25MW • Green House Gas Reduction*: 124,374 Pounds of CO2 496 Pounds of SO2 192 Pounds of NOX *(Based on National Average MWh Generated, Source: US EPA, eGRID2006 Version 2.1, April 2007) 17 Savings Monitoring (Optional) 18 Purchase Process Identify Location for Unit Installation An Electrical Contractor, Mechanical Engineer, or Electrical Engineer Conducts the Auditing Process.
